A HOUSE DIVIDED CANNOT STAND

Cllr Ian Henderson is perceived by all councillors as level headed and effective.
This is especially true on matters relating to housing so it came as a surprise to all that he and Cllr Press had been relegated to the backbenches and kicked off the Housing and Planning committees
What extraordinary folly at a time when all focus should have been on a Labour response to RBKC Housing SPD-the most important housing document since Grenfell.
When the chair of the Housing Committee, Cllr Kasmin Ali was asked by a resident about the document he replied, "I will get my committee to look at it".
He must have been embarrassed when told by the questioner that it was now statute in RBKC

Ali, one-time adviser to a Somalian president, waffled on in his election address,“housing is the top of everything, housing fit for human habitation.”

What a bullshitter!

There was a similar lack of reaction from Cllr Bahktiar, Labour spokesman on planning( though in his case there were extenuating circumstances) or indeed from any other members of the planning committee...Emma Dent Coad, Sina Lari or Kasmin Ali

  1. It would be unwise to rely on Emma Dent Coad to do anything purposeful about housing. I asked for help on a housing matter and she did nothing.

Henderson, a decent man, would always put the interests of tenants over and above the interests of the Labour Party.

  2. The Labour Party's Shame27 June 2020 at 09:51

Ian Henderson and Andrew Barshall stood for election to the Council as Independents in 2014. They were the only candidates who promised to sort out the TMO. Shame they never got in because the tragedy at Grenfell may never have happened. The Labour Party with all its high-falutin about Council tenants did nothing to sort out the TMO. The Labour Party colluded with the Tories in tenant mismanagement.

    1. The only one on the TMO who did anything for working class council tenants was Judith Blakeman.

  3. Oh God how predictable. Jobs for EDCs mates instead of quality people who can actually do the job. A little bird tells me he missed the amount of social housing on private land compared with public land.

  4. Press and Henderson secured 600 homes during their time on Housing and Planning. Let's wait and see if Councillor Ali takes the credit. Looking forward to seeing what real difference he will make for Housing in the Borough. Well known for having zero knowledge of his subject. As a Housing activist with the Earl's Court Campaign I cannot believe Labour made no response to the SPD. Even the Chelsea Society found the time to do so. What was he doing that was so important that he couldnt spend an afternoon with a reply ?

    1. An 'architect ' of chaos , no more that. Swanning round North Kensington telling everyone she is still the MP. She told us Jeremy was giving her a seat in the Lords. I thought she was one of us. Another Dilettante and still No1 Tool.

    2. EDC once told me that, back in the day, she would have been a "Deb." She had to make do with marrying the son of a Baronet.

Dent Coad, with all her class snobbery, never went to finishing school in Switzerland.

  7. I worked with him in the Council elections in Chelsea. I have since resigned from the Labour Party. He spent the entire Campaign calling me to see if he could find out any information to 'rubbish' Councillor Henderson. He said that he along with other Labour members on North Ken ( you all know who ) were determined to ruin Henderson. I am saving my testimony for the court case. I worked with Ian for many years and to see how he had been treated by the Labour Leadership and the cabal of Coad, Lari, Mason and Kear along with Ali and Baktiar is shameful. They dont care about people just themselves. As long as people like this exist in politics the Labour Party will never ever regain power. Shame on them.

What Court case are you on about?

  8. I heard Bakhtiar and Ali respond the 'Local Plan' in Council chambers as Planning and Housing spokespeople for Labour. Only for Councillor Evan's to mock them both for Cleary knowing nothing about the document. She then praised backbenchers Press and Henderson for their contributions and actually knowing about the subject and document. As a longstanding housing campaigner I was shocked and disappointed but I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt. Their contribution to this document is shocking and they should stand down or be sacked for taking public money for doing nothing. Shame on you both!

  9. Fact of the matter is Labour have four representatives on the Planning Committee, Dent Coad ,Lari,Ali and Bahktiar. Why couldn't any if them be bothered to respond? Why have none of them been disciplined by the Chief Whip for dereliction of duty. Ah yes it is Councillor Lari. He seems to be doing a great inside job of wrecking the Labour Group , bet he and his mate Tom Harwood of Guido Fawkes Spectator etc must have had right laugh when they were online quizzing together recently.

  10. Seena Larry what a joker. Berated Henderson for delivering food , while he's happy to have quiz nights with Guido Fawkes.

    1. The trouble with the ghastly Labour Party is that one cannot be Labour unless you hate the Tories. If one is a socialist, one cannot oppose them or disagree with them but one must hate them.

Good on Ian and Felicity for helping out at the Food Bank. Decent, moral, human beings helping those who are down on their luck.

  11. Ian sat up with my Gran till 2 in the morning while she waited for a plumber and electrician ( which he arranged as it was out of hours ) as she had a leak that was going into the electric box. We were out of the Country. He never mentioned it , like so much he does for all of us. He has transformed the Sutton Esate in Chelsea and has built us a beautiful community. These people should not be allowed to get away with what they are doing.

  12. I was having a terrible time , I lost my job and my partner and I had no money as my UC had not turned up. I was in a suicidal state and then ian knocked on my door
He said he heard I was in a bad place. I barely knew him. He went off came back with two bags of shopping and gave me 30 quid to get through the weekend. He gave me a supportive talking to and said that people did care. I gradually got myself on my feet and am now back on the straight and narrow. I've never seen him to thank him . Shameful if people are doing this to him. Thanks for everything ian.

    1. No less than I would expect of Ian. Dent Coad was not impressed when Victoria Borwick helped the late Major Vickers with food when he was being bullied by property developers who wanted to evict him.

  13. I was made homeless and sleeping rough. Ian tracked me down , made a homeless application with me at the Council and then put me up for over a week until I got a hostel. He washed my clothes fed me and gave my confidence back. I'm British but half Indian and I used an English name instead as people always had difficulty pronouncing it. He encouraged me to use my original name and to be proud of who I am and my heritage. I use it all the time now. I am still in the hostel but I am getting my life back on track all thanks to Ian. I've never seen him since and like the other post, Thanks ian

  14. I met Ian when he arranged the 9k to keep the Shurgard Storage Units open for three months after the Grenfell Fire , which were storing donated items. I just volunteered to deliver food due to Covid 19. We had loads of volunteers . I saw this lot posing outside foodbanks with bags of food. Surely they would have been better served by commenting on this Housing Document rather than doing something which had lots of volunteering support. This lot are the worst kind of virtue signallers ever.

  15. Henderson saved the Sutton Estate. Why would you not want him to lead on housing or planning. It beggars' belief to put that talent on the backbench and give the jobs to those who can't even be bothered.to read the brief.

  16. This is the Team that led EDC to defeat.
Lari the banker got his sums wrong which led to the defeat . Dent Coad clearly thought she was going to win. You can see that on the election night video at the Town Hall. Dent Coad walks forward like she won. Lari's number crunching wasnt very good allegedly.

I think Emma Dent Coad was the only one who thought she had won when Felicity Buchan was returned to Parliament. That pathetic raising her fist in victory; how embarrassing.

  17. Councillor Will at the Council meeting called Lari and Mason , 'Rik and the gang from the young ones', such is the ineptness of their performances. No scrutiny on anything for a year , and at the first opportunity to show what they can do , they cant even be bothered to make a statement to the SPD. Idiotic !

  18. Dame,

I think we should all ask Cllr. Ian Henderson to stand as London Mayor.

He is someone who has demonstrated as a councillor, and as a resident, campainging for the needs of those in the borough.

If it was not for his tireless campaingning with Andrew Barshall and Heinz Schumi Sutton estates would have easily been demolished.

The last three London mayors have pushed their personal interests in their position whilst I am sure Cllr. Henderson could save alot of homes and make decisions that are in the interests of Lononders rather than that those of developers et al.

If Henderson was to stand as London mayor I am sure he outperform the likes of Khan and Bailey.

  21. Dent-Coad, Mason, Lari and Ali must be expelled from Labour28 June 2020 at 12:54

Keir Starmner MP had better wake up! Labour is not electable if Corbyn's Labour Party Starlets behave like this shower in Kensington are doing.

Corbyn, like any overgrown petulant schoolboy radical who never got his arse caned at school, delights in this type dissent. He resents being seen off by the country who said no to his antisemitism and his arrogance and profligacy.
