FURTHER FOLLY AMONGST THE FLAILING LABOUR GROUP

Having boycotted the Borough’s scrutiny system for a year
(did anyone notice their absence?) the Labour Group have decided to return to scrutiny and take up the places generously offered to them by the still fragile Tory administration.
But did the Labour Group then decide to rise to the occasion at this time of national peril and offer up its most experienced and talented members?
Of course not.
The Labour Group by a now standard, 7 to 6 majority offered all its committee places to the most inexperienced and unimpressive members of the group.
It even went so far as to exclude ANY of the experienced  moderate Councillors (Henderson, Healy, Press and Atkinson) from the committees entirely so as to make it impossible for them to be elected as Committee chairs by wiser heads in the Council.

The only scintilla of sense in the new line up is the return of Cllr. Nail as Labour Lead on the Families and Children Committee.
One would have hoped that this was in recognition of her talent and dedication.
Not a chance. Cllr Nail continues to be put down or ignored completely by the Ultras – who in any case show no interest in Children’s Services.
Labour still has an unfilled place on the Children’s Committee but because it doesn’t carry an extra allowance none of the other Ultra members wants the place.
So much for public service!

So how were the new leading lights of the Labour Group selected?
Oh, that’s easy - The selection criteria was simply loyalty towards the ever more vengeful and highly strung Emma Dent Coad who from her position as Chair of the group now relishes directing events.
Step forward Cllrs Ali and Elgani ( who he I hear you ask ) who will now receive Select  Committee  Chair Allowances of more than £16,000 without ever having previously shown any interest in or knowledge of their new areas of responsibility.

  2. So while the 'ultra's demand a Republic for North Kensington n as they claim they are not listened to by the majority group. They go and do to their own group, exactly the same , as the so called injustice they are fighting against. What is the Labour Leadeship team doing? Reminds me of the old 'militant ' tactics.

  11. What would Starmers office know . We are a group of dedicated Labour Councillors led by an excellent ex-Mp, although to us she is still MP . We need money to pay our bills as we have no day job. Emma lets us do as we wish so we can serve our Community without having to find a job . Her leadership means we all get paid as long as we follow her instruction . What is the difference between us and any other organization , Inshallah!

  13. Oh Dear. The Dame had to take one thread because the comments about Lari and Dent Coad got out of hand (not that they weren't true, but there was a lot of nasty homophobia). Doubtless Dent Coad or one of her minions wrote to Dame threatening legal action, let's see if they try that again.

In any event, clearly something nasty is going on in Kensington Labour.

Does anyone have details of left wing homophobia?

Nobody wishes her ill on that score - but it doesn't seem to have stopped her dishing out her venomous views on local matters . She appears happy to dish it out but unable to take it back. Whatever the circumstances, those who involve themselves in public discourse cannot then claim immunity from responses

  18. We all saw just how "vengeful and highly strung" Emma Dent Coad was when she was on the TMO Board. She wasted valuable time prosecuting a personal vendetta against Juliet Rawlings and in mounting a vicious envious attack on Reg Kerr Bell . Emma brought nothing of any value to the Board. When Grenfell happened she thought that she should have the last word on what was wrong with the TMO. I am glad no one listened to her. She is typical of upper class people who think they can do everything better than anyone else and know what is best.

20.30. Emma Dent Coad loves to provide a link to things that fuel her argument.

Emma Dent Coad told people loudly and often that she did not like Juliet or Reg because they were Tories. No other reason was ever put forward just that they were Tories and she disliked them.

What I never understood was why Emma was so close to the
Arch-Tory, Maighread Condon Simmonds. Condon Simmonds is despised by residents of the World's End and Cremorne Estate to this very day.

    1. I've never once heard Reg Kerr Bell make any racist remarks. Whereas Emma Dent Coad's racism is well known.

When did "the vengeful and highly strung" Emma add the "Antiracist campaigner" tag to her Twitter profile?

Did she have an epiphany about antiracism or did she write it to get in with Corbyn?

    2. The only councillor who ever did any good on the TMO was Councillor Judith Blakeman. Dent Coad and Condom Simmonds with their silly double barrel names were self serving and useless.

    4. Indeed Dent Coad always made it her priority to 'get in with Corbyn ' and Abbott. That's why she lost her pro-European Seat. She didn't speak up for the EU until too late precisely because she wanted to stay close to Jeremy. Try as hard as she is doing she really cannot blame anyone else for her fall

I forgot to mention Dent Coad "getting in" with Abbott as well as Corbyn. Corbyn would not admit to his inner sanctum anyone whom Abbot branded "racist." When Emma Dent Coad was exposed as a racist, Abbott treated Emma Dent Coad, the ardent Antiracist campiagner to a cream cake.

    10. I am not having that 07.53!

Diane Abbott MP conveniently passed over the drawing that Emma Dent Coad put on the internet depicting Shaun Bailey being hanged. How she could exonerate her left wing buddy beats me? Emma's vile and repulsive image calls in to question her motivations for depicting a black guy in this way and reveals a disturbing prejudice. Corbyn did not have the decency to act on the complaint that he received from two Tory MP's about this.

    13. If you can bear to look at it the Kensington Labour Party Twitter Account has today carried 'A Personal Comment ' by EDC . In it she claims to have been ' an unofficial auntie' to young people in my neighbourhood' and witnessed blatant racism etc. This 'Earth Mother'/ 'Mother Courage' pitch is a new departure by the ever hopeful ex-MP but will it convince anyone?

Dent Coad is a racist bigot. I witnessed her "blatant racism" when she put a picture of a Black Conservative being hanged on the internet. It's a bit rich for Dent Coad to claim to be a champion of anti-racism.

    15. She conned Corbyn and Abbott but did she con everyone?6 June 2020 at 08:25

EDC didn't have the dignity to admit that she was being racist. Instead she claimed that she
was quoting the disparaging remarks of a black person. She insults our intelligence. She knew perfectly well that the comments that she conveniently put in quotation marks about Shaun Bailey AM being a "token ghetto boy", a "freeloading scum bag" whose "public school mates would drop like a hot potato" would appeal to racist bigots.

When did Cllr EDC start antiracist campaigning?

Why did she fail to publish an apology to Shaun bailey AM?

Why did she try to justify her "blatant racism" by saying that Bailey had said far worst things about himself?

  22. Left wing Labour Councillors in Kensington appear to be playing petty Student Union politics. That's what University does for the upper classes who, (unlike their working class counterparts are able to go to University) do not have to toil away in crap barrel jobs. I remember Corbyn doing this when I was at North London Poly courtesy of a grant paid for by working class taxpayers. Corbyn was bone idle and lacked self discipline. He blamed the Poly because they did not teach the way he thought they should.
