FOXTONS RUIN A YOUNG COUPLE'S CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR

A young Chelsea couple had their Christmas ruined when 'controversial' estate agency, Foxtons, encouraged them to sign a rental agreement to a property their client landlord did not even own!
CAR CRASH
Julian P, a CTO for a tech company sent the Dame a tragic story of how he was deliberately misled by Foxtons into signing a rental agreement cancelled by Foxtons just two days before Christmas. The couple had paid just over £10,000, which they had saved up over many months to put down as a deposit and advance rent whilst they recouped the costs of new furniture and moving fees.

Foxtons told the couple that they would return the money on the same day of notice, but had left the office by the time their bank had told them that the money was being held for Anti-Money Laundering reasons.

The couple has had no updates from Foxtons since receiving notice of the lease cancellation and no insight whatsoever as to when they might get their money back, meaning that they have been left with no money to put down a deposit elsewhere. Julian has reached out to the CEO of Foxtons, Nic Budden and various other Foxtons executives with no response beyond the acknowledgment of their formal complaint.

The property's "landlord", Frank Pons, a payment protection expert, convinced Foxtons that he owned the property but later pulled out of the sale, no doubt before recovering his initial deposit.

The couple had notified their current landlord that they were due to move on 10th January, leaving them with less than a week to find a new home when the holiday season is over, effectively rendering them homeless if they can't find a suitable alternative.

Why do people ever use Foxtons when there are so many better choices?

  2. The Foxtons mob look to be a vacuous bunch of charlatans. (Deposits must be ring fenced). Sounds like an invoice needs to be presented to Mr Budden for all and any costs incurred.

    1. Stupid reaction from an obviously ill educated person.
No other agents but dishonest ones like Foxtons would allow this to happen. If you read the story you will understand.

    2. Bugger you. Landlords are avaricious and play fast and furious with Estate Agents. "Let the buyer beware" is a lesson that poor Julian needs to learn. If he is a CTO then he should have grown up long ago.

    3. "Bugger You" as I rightly observed an obviously ill educated person and crude and common too....you probably are the sort of dimwit schmuck who works for Foxtons!

    1. Agree. M&P are very sharp. But they get results. If you cant handle them, go elsewhere and enjoy your "voids"

    2. The story is about Julian who made a £10k deposit for a flat, the deposit held by Foxtons. And then the rental fell through. It was unfortunate that Julian and Foxtons got into the hands of a rogue landlord. But Julian was lucky that he paid his deposit to Foxtons where it was safe and it has been returned. If he had paid the rogue landlord, he would be whistling in the wind.

This is BOLLOCKS....Julian paid his deposit to Foxtons who failed to do due diligence. Had Foxtons done due diligence they would have realised that the 'landlord' did not own the house that they, Foxtons, were marketing as a genuine rental so now Julian cannot get his £10,000 returned promptly. Typical shady and unprofessional Foxtons.
The only people who have a good word to say about this crook operation are other crooks like this 'landlord'.
