A KNIGHT CALLS A DAME

The other day the Dame got a call from Sir Merrick 'Pooter' Cockell.
The theme of his call was that the Dame had ruined his reputation and chance of a peerage by telling tales of his extraordinary and varied ways of making money.
"If you think I was greedy and grasping(we do, Pooter) then how about Sir Henry Bellingham?"

Grasping Bellingham

So the old Dame researched Sir H and was shocked to find that Pooter was right. Henry really is grasping.
In fact, he has so many little sideline sources of income that he got a parliamentary bollocking for failing to register one.
As he employs his wife on a parliamentary salary( a practice frowned upon) one wonders whether she is to blame.
Here is his roster of extra-parliamentary income.....

"In 2014, a mining company called Pathfinder Minerals appointed Bellingham as non-executive chairman 18 months after he stopped being Minister for Africa. It was reported that Bellingham was earning £4,000 per month for his work with Pathfinder and that he had lobbied on their behalf whilst working as Minister for Africa. The Daily Telegraph reported that the case raised concerns 'of a revolving door between Whitehall and the private sector, with ministers benefiting from contacts they made in office'. However, there was no suggestion of wrongdoing, and all the work has been declared in line with Parliamentary rules.[12]
Bellingham is a Director of Longborough Capital of Witney, Environmental Polymer Technologies of Shaftesbury, and Arc Fund Management.
As a back-bench MP, Bellingham is paid £6448.25 per month. In The Register of Members' Financial Interests as at 21 January 2019, Bellingham declares additional income amounting to £9,583 per month from four jobs:[13]
  • Non-executive director of Developing Markets Associates Ltd, a global consultancy and investment conference organiser - £2,500 a month
  • Non-executive Chairman of Pathfinder Minerals PLC, an AIM listed mining company - £2,083 per month
  • Senior Adviser to J. Stern & Co. LLP, a fund management company - £2,500 per month
  • Non-executive Chairman of Clifton Africa Ltd, a private company specialising in housing and infrastructure construction in developing countries - £2,500 per month"

Now, Bellingham is after the job of speaker....more bunce and a peerage at the end.
He says that he will be a 'shoulder to cry upon for MP's suffering from social media intrusion'.

What a dimwit! He's clearly spent too long in North Norfolk.

Men like Bellingham(pronounced like the cookers-not in the affected way he would like) are a disgrace.

No wonder so many MP's are held in utter contempt
