NO ANSWER CAME THE STERN REPLY....

Recently, a resident businessman posed a question to Cllrs Atkinson and Dent Coad, our MP.
There has been a deafening silence...
Come on, you two...answer the question!

And, on the same subject, the Dame expects an answer to the issue of the inept noise nuisance team.
A resident has taken the Dame and the Council to task so come on Leader, can we have an answer, please?

Dear Dame

You appear to be ignorant of the antics of the noise nuisance team in recent years - inefficiency and lack of funding is not the problem, ignorance and incompetence is!

Take for example the squandering of hundreds of thousands of pounds of our RBKC taxpayers’ money attempting to ban two school children from playing the piano in after school hours on behalf of one well-connected multimillionaire resident (complaining about 1.5 hours per day of piano playing!). The children’s other neighbours said there was no problem!

Also, take for example the experience of Mr Mustafa Karim and his neighbours in the north of the borough - Mr Karim spoke at the Full Council Meeting on the 23rd January (available to view on the RBKC webcast of this meeting), and explained that for the past four years, he and his neighbours have made hundreds of complaints to the RBKC noise team about Tesco Express trolleys crashing into the walls of his home every day from 6am until 11pm. Mr Karim and his neighbours were told that the noise nuisance officers could not / would not take any action on residents’ behalf because, “Tesco is a giant company and the council cannot fight giant companies”!

You are wrong and misguided to think that even more taxpayers’ funds should be diverted into an incompetent, poorly trained, unreasonable and unaccountable noise team who consider that it is worth spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on attempting to ban school children’s piano-playing. Unsurprisingly, they failed! AND had to pay all legal costs at taxpayer expense!

Noise nuisance officers have the option to direct residents to take private action as they did in the recent high profile “El Kerrami vs Fouladi” dispute. It begs the question why they did not take this approach with the well-connected Mr Baptista and his now ex-wife Ms Allen who were complaining about 1.5 hours of piano-playing per day! As for the poor residents in the north of the borough with genuine noise nuisance complaints, they are victims of an ill-equipped noise nuisance team with a perverted misunderstanding of their duties and the law on statutory nuisance.

This department has become totally useless. If the best they can do is target piano-playing children on behalf of wealthy residents, whilst ignoring genuine serious complaints about real nuisances, then all funding should be withdrawn.

  1. Dear Dame,

The silence from Atkinson and Dent Coad shows that they are not fit to govern . Be thankful for small mercies, they never will.

I have heard that Atkinson did not curtail his holiday to return to London when the Grenfell disaster occurred. He left Emma to cope.

The ever so astute Emma Dent Coad was upset to see a 92 year old woman on the streets. God love her when she exclaimed, This is what the rotten Tory bastards give you!" The homeless woman lived in California. Hard to see how Tories born the wrong side of the blanket could be responsible.

  2. Dear Little Local Business Owner, having made a close study of the excellent Labour Manifesto at the last Genera l Election and having played some part in writing the local manifesto last year l have no knowledge of any proposal to tax any small business at a rate of 20%. Fake news perhaps ?

However the current threat posed to small businesses by the unreformed business rates brought in train by our current ,hopeless ,Tory Government is all too real. And that before we start to look at the unfair advantages that online businesses are now enjoying to the detriment of ‘real ‘ shops and businesses. Sincerely Cllr. Robert Atkinson

  3. SMALL BUSINESS OWNER24 April 2019 at 12:07

    Dear Cllr. Atkinson,
I said I was a small business owner: your description of my business as 'little' is really not very constructive or sensitive.
John McDonnell has made clear that he intends to impose a 20% wealth tax on property assets. I operate my business from property assets that I have acquired over the years. According to Mr. McDonnell they will be taxed as assets and thus your reply provides no comfort or clarity. It is abundantly clear to those of us in business that your leader, Jeremy Corbyn and your shadow Chancellor, John McDonnell are politically unsympathetic to business: that's understandable as neither has ever had a proper job in the real world of profit generation. Profits pay for education, health services et. Your empty words pay for nothing.

  4. Awaiting Emma Dent Coad's economic analysis24 April 2019 at 14:21

Perhaps, Dent Coad will supplement Atkinson's take on micro economics. It should be good for a laugh.

  5. Cllr Atkinson is trying to play down the loony left's tax and spend marxist agenda including fleecing the property owing classes.

Has Emma Dent Coad had a proper job other than writing books about architecture and being a local councillor?

Proper job, you make me die.

People of her class get presented at the Debs' Ball when they are 18 and are quickly married off to some public school Hooray Henry. Cannot imagine her doing a proper job on the haberdashery or fake pearls' counter in Woolworth's.

  8. What caused an aristocratic, well bred descendent of the Medici's to become 'radicalised'?

My old friend Emma was married to Hooray Henry, a "chep" called Hadley D'Oyly now the 15th baronet.
Class is important to Emma and that's just how it should be.
The working classes need the firm hand of the 'Leftie' aristocracy and upper classes to tell them what to do. Oh, what fun it is to frighten your former posh friends with stories of what you will do with their 'Stately Piles'....sends a frisson of excitement down their spines
Her Wiki entry presumably written by her, mentions the Hadley one and the baronetcy.

If Emma Dent Coad MP wrote her Wiki entry, why did she make a point of telling us that she used to be married to "Sir Hadley Gregory D'Oyly the 15th Baronet." It would have been factual to refer to her former husband Hadley D'Oyly full stop - without the baronetcy or mentioning his title "Sir" which, is afforded to every Baronet.

No, send it to Skinner. Skinner won't have any of her classist, pseudo Tory nonsense. He'll tell her straight if no one else does and, it won't be posh. `

  12. The Labour Party needs to look at its prejudiced own27 April 2019 at 11:00

So Jeremy Corbyn MP, along with Vince Cable MP and Ian Blackford MP, has declined to attend a dinner hosted by Her Majesty The Queen during Donald Trump's State Visit to the UK. Corbyn has cited Trump's racist and misogynistic language for declining to dine with Her Majesty. Nothing wrong with that! A very principled position to take.

What I do not understand is Jeremy Corbyn's double standards. There is one rule for Labour Party racists and another rule for right wing racists like Donald Trump or Boris Johnson. The racist conduct of Jeremy's friends, Diane Abbott MP and Emma Dent Coad MP, comes to mind.

Jeremy Corbyn talks frequently to Diane Abbott oblivious to her racist prejudices. The Dame probably knows that Diane Abbott's repeated racist remarks about white people are well rehearsed in the salons of Knightsbridge - "West Indian mothers will go the wall for their kids" has been balked at by the well-heeled along with her comment about "White people loving to play divide and rule." In the Drawing Rooms of Notting Hill, Diane Abbott's comments about not wanting the recruitment of blond, blue eyed Nurses from Finland at Hackney Hospital in 1996 because they "may have never seen a black person let alone touched one" are viewed with disgust as indeed they must be by any decent person. The racist prejudices of Diane Abbott MP are every bit as bad as those of Donald Trump or Boris Johnson but they are not egregious to the good Corbyn.

Jeremy Corbyn has also forgotten the racial prejudices of Emma Dent Coad MP. After all, he needs her, Kensington's First Labour MP, to show up the disgraceful Tory Council over Grenfell Tower. So Corbyn conveniently excused Emma Dent Coad's racist conduct by failing to suspend her when she put an image of Shaun Bailey, a Black Tory politician, hanging from a gallows on the internet. Emma Dent Coad claimed that her racially prejudiced comments about Shaun Bailey were quotations from a Black woman. As Emma Dent Coad well knows Black people are not immune from reinforcing racist remarks usually attributable to white people. In the Living Rooms of Golborne, people are saying that the Golborne Gallows Girl cannot put her gallows image of Bailey being hanged in quotation marks because the Black woman concerned did not draw it.

It seems that the Labour Party only disciplines Jared O'Mara, an autistic MP, for his racist and misogynistic past and overlooks similar vile conduct from its rising stars. The Labour Party gives way to expediency for its own prejudiced politicians and hangs every right wing racist out to dry.

  15. Racist and antisemitic27 April 2019 at 15:51

For years, we had the sanctimonious Labour Party being the sole arbiter of what is ,and what is not, racist. Only Labour and its Special Race Commissars and Secretariats had the moral superiority to adjudicate on racism. How the mighty Labour Party has fallen in to a racist and antisemitic party.
