KCTMO GOES THRU' THE MOTIONS

Dear Dame
Please see attached images of the panel at the KCTMO AGM, if you would like to publish (signs on the wall said no photography or filming and anyone taking photos instructed to refrain by security).

Unfortunately, NO introductions were given by the panel so names are pretty much unknown.

The line up consisted of:

(left to right)

Kim Taylor-Smith
Barry Quirk

*  Person unknown
*  Company secretary - name unknown
*  Cllr Maighread Condon Simmons - Stand in chair
*  RBKC lawyer - name unknown (wrote notes to chair during procedings)
*  Person unknown

Several Directors of KCTMO seated together (stooges)

We were told 8 of 14 Board members are KCTMO residents.  Only 2 board members raised their hands when asked how many lived in KCTMO property.

NO KCTMO EMPLOYEES WERE PRESENT - WHY?

  1. NO APOLOGIES WERE GIVEN FOR ABSENT KCTMO EXECUTIVES MISSING FROM THE PODIUM AND NO EXPLANATION GIVEN

Ah yes the AGM. Kim Taylor Smith gave a speech explaining he intends to instruct external consultants to consult with all residents to find out what to do next! VERY EXPENSIVE WORK FOR WHAT AND WHO PAYS?

KTS also said the KCTMO had to remain to complete FIRE SAFTEY ASSESSMENTS for the whole borough!

Barry Quirk was a disaster - spouting rubbish, trying to get residents onside.

Councillor Magraid Condon-Simmonds - was told by a resident that "AS A COUNCILLOR SHE DID NOT HAVE THE CONFIDENCE OF THE ROOM" and was asked leave - she ignored this and carried on, supported by her the RBKC lawyer sitting beside.

The lawyer stated the chair and deputy chair were unable to attend and Councillor Magraid Condon-Simmonds had felt she could do it "SO THAT IS THE CHAIR YOU HAVE" the lawyer stated.

  2. What did Emma Dent Coad and Greg Hands do at the meeting? They used to let local MP's do a turn at the AGM. They should have slagged it to the ground to show whose side they are on.

  4. Kim Taylor Smith is wrong. The TMO does not have to remain to do the Fire Safety Assessment for the whole Borough? I must confess that for once I am speechless and very few people have ever managed to do that to me.

What a stupid thing to say? Was he being ironic given what the TMO's record on fire safety?

Surely the TMO is not suitable to do Fire Safety work.

    4. For residents in a small block managed by KCTMO, the offer from KCTMO is to form a compact, led usually by one resident who feeds information back to KCTMO. This is a smaller more informal option to a Residents Association.

Basically residents do the work and just feed it back to KCTMO. Another scam.

    5. So which Compact Leader has written to hyphen.

There are too many hyphens in K&C. They think it is posh to put the handle bar in. Emma Dent-Coad is even trying to be posh which, is not possible when you are Labour, giving yourself the pretence of the double barrel. What would I know, my name is Gammon but from now on I wish to be known as "Gar mon." It is one way of improving on Bacon.

  6. The top table line up shown in your photograph is Cllr Taylor-Smith, Barry Quirk - CEO of RBKC, Elaine Elkington – Interim TMO Chief Executive, paid for by RBKC not the TMO, TMO Company Secretary Kerry Tromanhause, Cllr Maigread Condon-Simons, Keith Jenkins and Andrew Cowan, from the TMO’s solicitors Devonshires. Although the TMO Chair Fay Edwards was not there to chair the meeting owing to “ill health”, the Vice Chair was present. The Vice Chair took the chair at the AGM last year – so why not this year? And in fact there were at least five resident Board members sitting at the side, although only two were brave enough to raise their hands. The Executive Team of the TMO were on the platform, but hiding behind the hapless Board members. Emma Dent Coad MP was outside the building the whole time, not prepared to sully her integrity by attending the meeting but giving running commentary to the assembled media. Heaven only knows where Greg Hands MP was. The TMO’s solicitor announced that Cllr. Condon-Simmonds had no conflict of interest being a councillor on the Board and chairing the meeting, although interestingly, apparently Cllr Blakeman has been suspended from the Board because as a councillor she “has a conflict of interest”. Strange how these things work!

    6. The Labour councillor on the TMO Board, whoever he or she is, is generally the only voice of opposition. The moment residents are elected, they are led by the nose by the TMO Executive. There has to be some proper scrutiny of what they do. Abstention is the easy way out.

  7. The whole Leadership of K&C, (Lizzie, Taylor-Smith and Pascall), continue to dig that hole for the Tories at a furious pace.

Wipe out is coming in May 2018.

The local Tories are too stupid and too blind to figure out what is going on. Momentum ( the new premier Election Machine of Britain) has focused on London for the May 2018 local elections with the objective of wiping out the Tories. Grenfell will be factored into the K&C campaign. Momentum will eliminate the Tories with ruthless efficiency.

Ruth Davidson has figured it out and so have the Evening Standard polls. The Sloane Square dinner party set still have the their heads up their back sides. Lizzie loves to snort farts.

  10. Person Familiar With The Situation25 October 2017 at 07:43

Momentum is here in force in Kensington and Chelsea. They are already working the Tower Blocks in the North and South of the Borough with the intention to wipe out the Tories at the May 2018 local election.

Momentum has a clear target to swing London to Labour in 2018. The flagship target is Kensington and Chelsea where they will utilise the Grenfell disaster as center piece in the election campaign. The Inquiry Report for Grenfell is scheduled to be published in March 2018 which will turn the local election into another bonfire in the vicinity of Hornton street.

If any of the currently stupid Tory group in the Royal Borough are in any doubt about the ruthless efficiency of Momentum then they would do well to remember the baying crowd outside the Town Hall at the last General Election count when humbled ex MP Victoria Borwick was replaced by Corbynista and Momentum supported Emma Dent-Coad.

A few siren voices have figured out the threat and made the wake up call. Clear thinking Ruth Davidson did not mince her words when she predicted that Tories will be wiped out next year if the London Party does not pull its socks up and start to look and feel like a Londoner. Evening Standard polling shows clearly the 20 point lead for Labour in London.

The most comatose Tories are huddled in Kensington and Chelsea. There is a Leader, irrelevant and silly Cllr Campbell, preoccupied with her own importance and grasping at every self promotion opportunity that she can find. The Ward Chairmen are oblivious to the Labour threat and remain transfixed by the challenge of their Garden Parties. There is no election machine, no strategy, and no candidates selected for the May 2018 election. The Kensington and Chelsea Conservative Party desperately needs a fresh face..

    The train crash has started.

KCTMO is only one of the symptoms. Grenfell is only one of the disasters (admittedly a very big disaster).

Dent Coad and Hands only care about themselves. They don't give a sh*t about those who live under the TMO. They know about bullying by TMO Managers and the burning to death of 80 people yet those who run the place are still in post.

    1. @09.52 Greg Hands MP has a safe seat with a good majority. Council tenants who would have otherwise voted Tory changing the way they vote will not bother him too much. I wish this were not the case. He is very arrogant.

Emma Dent Coad MP is a different kettle of fish. She only has a twenty seat majority and holds the seat by the skin of her teeth. Getting re-elected will take more than blaming the "nasty Tories" for every thing that is wrong with society and being abusive about royalty.

People remember that she was very close to the TMO when she was on its Board for four long years. During that four year period, she knew that tenants were being bullied and oppressed by TMO staff yet she supported the TMO by serving on its Board; unforgivable when she knew what was really going on. She needs to redeem herself and make sure that for however long tenant management continues in Kensington and Chelsea that some decent people are brought in to run the place. She needs to speak out more effectively about the charade of Robert Black drawing a salary "to assist the Inquiry."

We need high level sackings at the TMO and a Housing Commissioner to be brought in. A Housing Commissioner being imposed on the Borough may not be democratic but it could not be any worse than the prevailing situation.

      Delete
    4. 11.07. Emma Dent Coad has been at pains to say that she was not on the TMO Board when any decisions about Grenfell Tower were made. This is true. What she does not say is more telling. So allow me to enlighten you.

She was most definitely on the TMO when the Council appointed Maria Memoli to investigate back in 2008. The Memoli Report was extremely damming of the TMO and its findings have been well publicised.

What did Emma do? She continued on the TMO Board for another three years post Memoli. She also knew that very little changed in that three years at the TMO and that the place was failing some of the poorest people in the Country. She has admitted as much in media interviews since becoming an MP. She knew that tenants loathed the TMO.

Of course she did not have the foresight to know that the TMO would do things so badly at Grenfell Tower with eighty people meeting their maker on one dreadful night. As Sir John Major said, 'Hindsight is a wonderful thing." Would Emma be big enough to admit that with the benefit of hindsight she got it wrong and will learn from her past mistakes?

    5. If there are no sackings at the TMO, there is just a possibility that some of those responsible for Grenfell Tower might be transferred under TUPE to a new employer and we can't have that. Sack 'em pronto

    8. at 10.27. You can tell that Emma Dent Coad did not read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford like most Labour Westminster politicians. This deficiency in her political education and training is covered up when she blames the "nasty" Tories for every societal ill. This is the stuff of Neil Kinnock's Labour Party- opposing the Tories was not enough, Labour politicians had to hate them with a vengeance and this is now Emma's stock-in-trade. She needs a crash course in political theory to give her a better grounding in political criticism.

  20. Why have there been no sackings at the TMO? And don't give me the unfair dismissal cr*p. It is not unfair to sack the incompetent.

Tesco sacks people for far less than burning eighty people alive and is just as likely to have an unfair dismissal claim brought against it as any other employer.

Months ago, at a public meeting, I heard a Grenfell survivor demand that the police arrest someone. It is time that all the Labour Councillors started putting their gobs in to gear to demand sackings. At the moment they are colluding in Tory apathy.

  22. Robert Black has asked the TMO to give him permission to leave. If he leaves when TMO is still in place, he will get a really good financial settlement. If the council had taken over, he would have only got the bare minimum (it is the law for local government, see). So this is why he is leaving on the TMO's watch.

  23. 11.30. This is interesting news. Black has been a disappointment at best and a disaster at worst. I have known people leave Local Government with more than the bare minimum so not sure about what you are saying. Black does not need permission to leave he just needs to give hand in his Notice. No severance payment would be paid.

WHAT CONCERNS ME MOST IS 09.05 WHO IS WORRIED ABOUT THE WIRING IN A TMO FLAT AND WHO DOES NOT HAVE THE CONFIDENCE TO APPROACH THE TMO BECAUSE OF BAD TREATMENT IN THE PAST. WE NEED TO CLEAR OUT THE TMO OF THE TOP BRASS FOR HOWEVER LONG IT REMAINS.
