COME ON, PASCALL, BUCK YOUR IDEAS UP!

.......and talking about taxpayers funding elected representatives' families....

The Dame received this email from a fuming resident.
It seems Councillor Pascall who rakes in close to £40,000 a year doesn't like to be bothered with irritating residents-or at least that seems to be the inference from the email sent to the Dame.
Mr and Mrs Pascall pull in close to £60,000 a year so he should have the manners to respect those paying him a sizeable wedge.

Dear Dame,
Councillor Pascal has never replied to an e-mail from me or two of my neighbours which I have been informed is in breach of his contractual obligations.
I would be most thankful if you would produce a blog post asking if anyone in the Royal Borough has e-mailed this idle shirker and not received an acknowledgement or reply.
If we can organise a dozen or so people to complain, the Conservative Party whip might take some disciplinary action and RBKC might censor his conduct.
It might even result in Dizzy Lizzie having to find another Deputy.
I am happy for this e-mail address to be published on your blog post, should you deem it worthy.

Yours sincerely,

Richard

  1. Oh, dear Richard: how deluded you are. Why on Earth do you think that a new 'Deputy' is likely to be any better? To treat residence with the greatest of indifference is endemic in the swamp. So do not think that there may be this uncut diamond..

    3. Sad Badger, what you say shows you accept and do not challenge the circumstances of RBKC/KCTMO, there is a chance you may change into a sheep.

Eddie Grenfell a fine campaigner has never given up, we must follow process and show how we are let down time and time again by the councillors who take pay and abuse the trust of government and constituents.

Thank you Richard for trying to make a difference.

    1. I think time for complaining is over. We should take action to remove rotten people. Whether you are not happy with the Council or KCTMO, serve them with lawsuits. I certainly will. It would be interesting to know how many people have taken court action.

    2. I also have had my share of complaining. The next s**t to hit the fan will be about Adult Social Care in this Borough, presided over by our dear Ms Baillie, about whom there have been enough comments on here. Remember the poor Ghurka Major. for example?

  3. they are getting a rude awakening. They, the whole lot, must be treated with the same indifference and arrogance, as they have treated us, the peasants of the Borough, and get them out next year.

  4. I always found my Ward Councillors in Campden Ward responsive to emails and prepared to listen and, where possible, take up problems/concerns.

Even if Councillors are useless (and one of the Campden Councillors is useless) it is essential for ALL Ward Councillors to be prepared to engage with residents. Answering an email is not a difficult thing to do.

As for the Leadership, my experience has been:

Cllr Cockell - not prepared to acknowledge emails and generally obstructive

Cllr Paget-Brown - always acknowledged emails, listened, and replied with his point of view

Cllr Campbell - not prepared to acknowledge emails, in spite of follow ups and reminders. This indifference was also mentioned by a number of North Kensington residents at the open Council Meeting to discuss Grenfell

  5. Cllr Pascall is not a people person. He has time on his hands, is short of money and drifted onto the Tory backbenches in Hornton Stret. He was an undistinguished member of the Planning Committee operating at the absolute level of his competence. Painfully slow and no evidence of being able to carry people with him. Good ballast, Royal Borough style.

Suddenly catapulted to a senior post of Deputy Leader by the hopeless, troubled and challenged social climber Lizzie Dizzie, Pascall plus wife have seen their Hornton street salaries treble in the flash of an eye lid and Mr Pascall is now plotting to take over the Leadership when Lizzie implodes. For him it is a waiting game. Lizzie daily commits hari kari and the Tories have no one else who is prepared to put themselves forward. Pascall thinks he has it stitched up.

    Residents, of course, are irrelevant.

    1. oh, don't despair. The hurricane and the following tsunami of 'change' will flush out all these useless toads

    2. @17.02 You speak of hurricane and tsunami but we don't want another Grenfell to act as a catalyst for 'change'. RBKC has gotten bad name not just nationally but internationally which is staggering considering it is supposed to be the smallest borough in London.

  6. You are all talking to the converted here on the Hornets nest and sharing stories, chasing each others tales. Richard is right, why not follow procedure and do it through the proper channels available and just see where it goes, nothing to lose surely? Ordinary people get nowhere with bureaucracy.

I have had no involvement with Pascal but can confirm "do nothing " Councillor Warwick (lawyer) did not respond to several emails sent and refused to get involved in a housing issue, pulling every excuse out he could find - serious avoidance and wasted time, we found he always sides with KCTMO in some form or other.

Good post Richard, are you standing as an Independent next time round?

    1. What do you mean by 8 to go? Do you mean another 8 people who didn't get the help and the above four can take a collective tangible action?

    2. If above is the case, surely there must be eight people who can email Pascal and see if they'll get a reply? Easy.

  10. Would Dame be kind enough to look into rumours that RBKC will become a subsidiary of WCC following the break up of Triborough.

Are WCC so much better that they should manage our Communications service, influence our housing department and decisions, lead on our commissioning and staff/lead on our back office functions such as finance, income collection, training, senior management etc

If this is the case should we just surrender and become part of a greater Westminster or has the council just decided that they can't trust themselves to run anything anymore?

    1. I wrote to Pascal when I lived in Elm Park Gardens to seek representation in a matter concerning the TMO. He ignored my correspondence. But there again, Emma Dent Coad ignored my emails when it suited her. What a shower RBKC Councillors are! Doesn't matter whether they are Tory or Labour they are no good and need to start earning their keep.

    2. There are continuing rumours that K&C will be taken over by Westminster and Hornton Street will be closed down. A major concern for residents is who will our Ward Councillors be? Elections come up in a few months, in May next year, and the K&C Tories are making selections this month of who will stand. Cllr Campbell (the Dizzie one) is twitching her brain and exercising power. The old stagers are fearful that she will deselect them. Any one over 70 is on the block. And Cllr Julie Mills (Chairman of the Tory group) is on the warpath following the disastrous result at the General Election which saw Labour cruise to victory.

All one big mess with cat Lizzie playing with her mangy mice.

    3. This is fantastic news for property developers. The Hornton Street site is perfect for "buy to leave" and would fetch £300 million which Westminster could spend on social housing. After all, the Holland Park School playground sold for £100 million to fuel the "buy to leave" brigade - so £300 million for the bunker would be a snitch

    4. Sounds like Dame Rutherford and the Blessed Freeman are on the block. And the holy B Campbell too. And what about Shuffles Campion?

      Oh dear me.

It is going to be the young brigade. Dizzie, Rock, Faulks and Weale. Catastrophic. And the aging rocker, the double barrelled Deputy.......

    5. 'WESTMINTER CITY COUNCIL (INCORPORATING THE BOROUGH FORMALLY KNOWN AS RBKC)’?

RBKC leadership didn't know what it was doing the day it ended the tri-borough arrangement. RBKC press release (split in 2018): https://www.rbkc.gov.uk/press-release/tri-borough-partners-split-2018

There was a sort of balance in the old tri-borough arrangement. The size of WCC, in terms of population and geography, is approx twice either RBKC or H&F (or near equivalent to them added together). Take H&F away (i.e. the new bi-borough arrangement) and there is no balance - a small borough (RBKC) and one twice its size (WCC). Whatever is joined up is very likely to end up being dominated by the bigger party.

Going forward the public are going to ask: ‘What is the point of RBKC?’ RBKC leadership will then need to justify the continuation of RBKC.

Personally, I do not want RBKC to disappear, so I'd like this question answered: ‘What has the RBKC leadership built into the new envisioned bi-borough entity to ensure it isn’t a vehicle for RBKC to be gobbled up by far bigger ‘partner’ (WCC)?’

Or, are the RBKC leadership crossing their fingers and hoping the local elections will make all these difficult issues disappear!

    6. It has become clear in recent weeks that Cllr Spalding, Ward Councillor for Earls Court, is campaigning hard to raise his profile with residents and fellow Councillors in order to make a bid for the Leadership when this becomes vacant. So Cllr Pascall, another contender for the fast approaching vacancy that will occur when Dizzie Lizzie implodes, has competition.

Cllr Spalding is a Tory "outsider". Not part of the current establishment, never a Cabinet Member. He does not disguise his impatience with current processes in the Council, his contempt for the current Leadership, and his belief that the culture and focus of Hornton Street is not appropriate. His campaigning is based on the adoption of popular causes, such as the evils of Air BnB in the Borough, and seeking to mobilise opinion and make noise with reports and working parties.

Cllr Spalding is also a neighbour and protege of disgraced ex Leader, Cllr Cockell. Cockell introduced Spalding to the council and promoted him to be a Councillor.

The race for the Leadership is hotting up. Deputy Leader Pascall and his Councillor wife are plotting quietly and campaigning with stealth to bring the dosh into the financially challenged family. And outsider Cllr Spalding, wildly ambitious, is stoking the flames.

The Grenfell inquiry kicked off today. At his Press Conference this morning to announce working arrangements and timetables, it is clear that the judge (Sir Martin Ward speaking in the Connaught Rooms) will be ruthless in terms of probing and the timely completion of Part 1 of his work. We can expect the first report before the Local Council election in May next year.

When the shit hits the fan, Dizzie will be dust. Pascall and Spalding need to sharpen their pencils. But residents know that neither of these gents is worthy of the Leadership.

Why is Cllr Mackover not making himself visible?
