Those who engage in violence against elected representatives, or, indeed anyone, should feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves. The Dame understands that Cllr Mason was attacked and injured. If correct it's an outrage.......
I'm no fan of Pat Mason, but there's no place for violence under any circumstances.
The Grenfell atrocity - for that is what it is - has stirred deep and potentially dangerous anger in north Kensington. Some would exploit justifiable anger to promote violence. This must not be permitted. The rule of law, not of the mob, must bring those responsible for Grenfell to book. The sooner the better.
Strange, the person didn't attack the most obvious like NPB or RockFM but attack cllr Mason? It doesn't make sense. The residents of Lancaster West are against violence such as riot so it must have been someone outside looking for an opportunity?
i thought that you human race kind have the English language to effectively attack your own kin without violence...Must have been an illiterate, misguided twit. Shame on him. But, what are the details, before you start throwing stones?
Someone had read a comment in the Standard stating that EDC should accept group responsibility for the fire. Sad to say this comment was from Victoria Borwick. In the absence of Emma someone vented their anger against Pat Mason.
I think any RBK&C Councillor or ex-Councillor should watch what they say in relation to RBK&C TMO. They have all been told on numerous occasions by numerous people that the TMO is dysfunctional, the Board a farce and the whole thing little more than a sham. To suggest, even indirectly, that it was even remotely functional is a bare-faced lie. However given that the major beneficiary of the farce was the Council perhaps such comments are only to be expected from the majority party.
As far as Victoria Borwick is concerned - she should certainly know better because the Warwick Road estate was on her patch and the residents there have repeatedly telling her over the years what a complete pile of shit the TMO really is.
This does not make sense it has got to be thugs from outside, and if this keeps up local people will lose public sympathy. Locals should take charge and keep outside activists out. Dent Coad said on the Daily Politics show that housing activists had been helping Grenfell for years, well their help did not have any positive outcomes. It also seems from her interview that Labour do not want the Judge heading the inquiry even though he seems to be very well qualified. Dent Coad made a number of statements on the Daily Politics show but when questioned was not able to back them up. One of the reasons Dent Coad gave for removing this Judge was a Westminster case he was involved with, in that case he was on of three Judges who made that decision, whice was later overturned by the Supreme Court, the fact that Supreme court is not bound by precedent has escaped everyone's notice. It all right to be angry, it is allright to critise what is unacceptable is the politiking that is going on, these people have been through enough what they need is help and proactive support and an organised framework to get answers and closure. The Council is ultimately responsible for what happened at Grenfell Tower, that means Conservatives, Labour and Liberals none of there parties can stand apart from this tragedy. You cannot argue as Dent Coad did that a minority party has no say, does that mean they have given up before they start and is that fair to the people they represent.
How might locals take charge and keep outside activists out?
While your argument re joint responsibility makes sense in the sane world we are in a world where the majority party didn't recognise 220 feet of their property in flames for 36 hours as anything to do with them so it's possible that Labour may have been yelling their heads off and remained ignored.
Labour are not backing Moore-Bick because locals don't accept him, and they don't accept him because he made a decision that treated a person in social housing like a unit with sub units that can be moved around like inanimate objects. They are less interested in his legal limitations and very interested in not being treated as units, since this is what has caused the deaths and misery of so many, over many many years.
Whether or not we are in a sane world or the majority party is inept the council is ultimately responsible
it is not true to say that the locals don't accept Moore-Bick some do and some don't also some of the opposition to Moore-Bick is driven by outside activists. one way to keep the outside activists out is for the locals to make it clear who speaks for them currently it is not clear who is speaking for who.
Well, Mr. Stensson....the Dame took your comment very seriously and did an 'investigation'. It seems that though Victoria Borwick's son has been trained by Mossad in various martial art forms he was not guilty of attacking Cllr Mason. Hope that puts your mind at rest.....
It's no excuse for violence, but an explanation may be which Labour councillors were members of the TMO and when? Multiple, acknowledged, dangerous decisions were made by RBKC/KCTMO. The Grenfell Action Group knew the dangers and protested. RBKC threatened them with litigation for doing so. Did Labour councillors speak out in support of GAP or step down in protest? These issues remain to be examined in detail.
All of the Councillors were aware of what was going on. It would be naive of us to believe that they did not. They are guilty - collective/corporate guilt. The precise details should be addressed by GAP at the appropriate time, should GAP be given the opportunity to do so... I doubt that they will.
This is an incredibly powerful video. The views expressed will not go away and there is not a chance in Hell that Cllr Campbell is the appropriate person to try and bridge the gap or lead a team that can make inroads into the injustice that is felt.

Perhaps the attack came from someone who had read the Dame's flogging of Mason both on the 11th and the 12th of June...

oh, and nor did he ask any of his violent gang member friends to 'sort out' the councillor

DeleteUnlike NPB or RockFM who lives on another planet, here is someone I call a cllr, a person who is on our level and just.
