CAPITALISM EXPLAINED FOR THE DIMWITTED!

  1. Michael Eavis is not a millionaire: he is a multl-millioniare.
If he sold Worthy Farm it would be worth at least £10 million on brand value alone. As it stands it's worth at least £3 million.
Jeremy Corbyn's house is doubtless worth a couple of million and the combined wealth of the performers around a billion.
    Someone's 'avin a larf!

    1. You, poor humanoids, are all so confused.... centered on money. Glastonbury, as I understand it, is for those who not only have few quid to spare, but are prepared to put up with certain degree of discomfort and lack of facilities to enjoy a jolly 3-day distraction from their comfortable but humdrum lives.... long live Eavis and his followers... It is a shame that I and my beloved cannot make it there, as we are a persecuted minority in that neck of the woods.... We prefer to sit at home in our sett in Holland Park and enjoy it on our TV and Mr O'Sullivan's food at the Belvedere, the customers are far too piss elegant to take home in a 'doggy bag'... anything that is left over...

    1. I am sorry, but I disagree.... arseholes are very useful, even for us, poor rodents.... whether Mr Corbyn is so, is debatable, depending on your political hue....

    2. Mr Corbyn cares nothing for you badgers: you have no vote and pay no tax.

    3. likewise we care a big fig leaf about him....Me thinks, that as tax non-payers we may be the winning lot.... It was not Corbyn who introduced badger culls....

  3. Has anyone spotted the similarity between the current trend and The Hunger Game? If I must spell it out... Push for social cleansing and creation of slum city somewhere up north, the poor only has talent to sell hence tv programmes like Big Brother and Britain's Got Talent. It's their only chance of getting out of the slum city while rich bath in champagne and enjoys their solid gold taps.

  4. According to an article from 9 June 2017 in the online business newspaper "London Loves Business" (http://www.londonlovesbusiness.com/business-news/politics/how-rich-is-labour-leader-jeremy-corbyn/11776.article), Jeremy Corbyn currently earns £67,060/year as MP, and since September 2015 a further £58,000/year as party leader; a total of £125,000/year before tax. He claims hardly any expenses (a total of £692.70 since April 2015, according to IPSA), and his house is estimated to be worth £650,000. Hardly a millionaire.

So where does the millionaire claim come from? Daily Mail, of course.
In 2015, that very trustworthy newspaper claimed that he had cost the tax payers £3 million - by adding up all his MP payslips since 1983 (a total of £1.4 million before tax) and then assuming that he has also claimed at least as much in expenses - although IPSA's official records state that he's only claimed £700 during the past three years.

  5. I see he's been married 3x which explains it all. Like the way he fixed a job for his son, Sebastian working as Chief of Staff for Provo loving John McDonnell.

    1. People who vote tory are just not very nice and you, 14:33, sum that up. I would ask you to keep your spew to yourself but it's always good to keep that vicious racist/ classist/ hate on view to remind us all about what really goes through what passes for a tory mind.

  7. The Labour model has been tried and tested and has failed this country every time - a quick history lesson:

    1. Ramsay McDonald capitulated with Conservatives - 1933?

    2. Harold Wilson bankrupted the country 1964-1969 having to devalue the pound

    3. Labour government under Harold Wilson, followed by James Callaghan bankrupted the country, had to go grovelling to the IMF and accept their draconian terms

    4. 1997 Tony Blair - War and death, lies to Parliament followed by Brown who sold the gold reserve and spent the money, leaving us broke again in 2008 with 7 years plus austerity ahead

Now to Corbyn a dangerous idealist who wants to take us back to the '70's in a dictatorial role. When Cobryn promises his utopia, he does not tell us where the money is coming from, but of course he would leave the country bust like all the rest.

Please look at the political history of this country to make an informed decision

  8. Margaret Thatcher sold off all the council housing stock leading to today's current housing crisis. Ted Heath 3 Day week. David Cameron responsible for Brexit with out having a clue what to do. Theresa May doubled the National Debt. This Conservative Government have borrowed more than all the other Labour Government's put together since the war . Please take a look at the political history of this country to make an informed decision.

  9. I suppose it depends of whether one believes that the economy serves people or whether people (not we or our families, obviously, but faceless groups we don't know) are economic units. In RBKC we've seen very clearly that it's been fine to allow, and to vote for, vulnerable people to die in misery one at a time over many, many years but not good when hundreds die all at once and very visibly. N Ken is very grateful for the Kensington ladies who have genuinely worked hard to offer relief but it would be more helpful if they didn't vote to keep poor people in lethal situations to begin with.

The polite grooming of well educated and trained RBKC worthies is much more bearable than the honkings of the cunning peasant who feels safer working for his Masters against his neighbours. At least they can frame an argument rather than the verbal equivalent of waving your arse in the air. However, the only excuses for well educated and very privileged tories not knowing how many food banks there are in the borough, screaming at constituents and emitting one syllable noises during Council meetings are either bad faith or mental illness. In either case, they must stand down or be forced to depart.
