QUESTION...WHY DOES CLLR SIMMONDS SUPPORT THE RILEY ARMS.....

Shameful Behaviour

Dear Councillor Simmonds,

SHAME ON YOU !!!!!!!

FOR LETTING RESIDENTS DOWN ONCE MORE !!!!!

YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON TO HAVE COMMENTED IN FAVOUR OF THE THE RILEY ARMS PUBLIC HOUSE PLANNING APPLICATION !!!!

WHY  WOULD YOU NOT SUPPORT RESIDENTS ????

In your comment you omit to mention that the planning application is not for the refurbishment of the present layout, which residents favour, but to build an open patio at the back in front of children's bedrooms, open an entrance at the back on Ann Lane and open the whole front with by fold doors.

32 oppositions have been logged against this application. These include two residents associations, the police and The Chelsea Society.

WHY WOULD YOU SUPPORT SOMETHING THAT WILL ADVERSELY AFFECT CHILDREN'S LIVES  AND THE MOST VULNERABLE  ???

This pub extension will be next to the homes of elderly and disabled residents and many young children's bedrooms will overlook it .

Children will be forced to have their bedroom curtains closed during the day in order to avoid witnessing drug taking and drug dealing outside their homes. It is 'known' that groups of patrons congregate smoking drugs on residents' entrances at the back of the pub during daylight hours on a daily basis. Children are forced to walk through these groups as they come home from school. The building of a patio at the back and an extra exit will further blight our children's lives.

Concertina doors are proposed at the front on the Kings Road. This will open the front of the pub seven days a week from 10 am to 11 pm . Mothers with young children at present desperately try to avoid the leery comments and the frequent sexual references as they force their way through crowds of drunks on the way to the supermarket on a daily basis. Having larger crowds will further compound the feeling of entrapment as they suffer this onslaught of antisocial and criminal behaviour at the front and at the back of the pub. They have no choice but to face this on a daily basis as they walk to the supermarket, shops and bus stop.

Many of us have worked very hard to improve the lives of the most vulnerable and in particular the children in our community as they are our future.

By all means refurbish the pub, BUT ... DON'T SUPPORT THE INSTALLATION OF FOLDING DOORS AT THE FRONT AND AN EXTRA EXIT AND AN OPEN COURTYARD AT THE BACK !!!!!

WE ARE APPALLED THAT NOT ONLY HAVE YOU TURNED A BLIND EYE TO WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THE NEW OWNERSHIP TOOK OVER A YEAR AGO, BUT ARE OPENLY IGNORING THE BEST INTERESTS OF RESIDENTS !!

YOU DO NOT LIVE IN THE PROXIMITY OF THE PUB THEREFORE ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO MAKE COMMENTS ON BEHALF OF THOSE THAT DO !!

  1. Yes, That is a good question.

Why is this councillor supporting the commercial interests of this commercial premises rather than the interests of the most vulnerable residents in the vicinity ?

  3. We will never vote for her again !!!

  4. She uses her position on the TMO board to favour her special friends.

  5. She still campaigns for the demolishing of hundreds of homes. Tells anyone that will listen that "It is such a shame that Crossrail was not built on The Cremorne Estate "

  8. Oh yes, keys to private gardens for her special friend. Private gardens that all residents pay for.

  9. Watered beautiful gardens when the rest of the gardens' planting is dying due to not being watered ...The councillor's special friend...

  12. Free meals in the new gastro pub - valued at less than £50 so no need to declare them?

  13. Interesting ...

  14. Right, so 32 residents went to the effort of objecting but the local ward Councillor is quite happy to take the landlord's assurances as to what will happen afterwards? Despite the Pub's track record to date resembling a car crash? That's either extreme naivety, very poor judgement or something worth investigating.

  15. Cllr Simmonds marches to her own drum. She is one of the pre Hornet school of Councillors - out of site, out of mind, doing their own thing for their own benefit.

The world has changed. The Dame put a spotlight on the likes of Cockle and the ROYAL BOROUGH got rid of the monster.

Now the smaller fry like boggy Simmonds are coming under the spotlight. The Dame is doing a sterling job exposing these rodents for what they are.

    A coincidence ?

  19. Many of us were brought up to believe that these sort of goings on only occurred in developing countries.

    How naive !!!!

  20. She works against the best interests of residents: The displacement of vulnerable residents, putting pressure on RBKC and TMO officers to protect her special friends, bullying officers to give parking permits to her favourite restaurants, etc, etc

  21. i have read the planning report on line. It does not mention the highway issues on Kings Road. The drunks that block the pavement from 2 pm onwards, making it difficul for pedestrians to walk on the pavement.

Environmental Health see no problem with building a patio at the back. 25 childrens' bedrooms are within five metres of the proposed courtyard.

They will be forced to grow up with swearing, noise and drug dealing in front of their bedrooms.

THIS IS HOW YOU SUPPORT US COUNCILLOR SIMMONS !!!!!

  22. I understand there is a police report.

    Where is it ?

    ReplyDelete
  23. yes, why is it not on line ?

  24. The police must have objected.

They attend all the time to deal with the dug users coming out of the pub and using on our door steps day and night.

  25. The back street Ann Lane is on private land.

The paving and tarmacking been paid for by Housing Regeneration Project money procured by the residents association.

The cleaning and maintenance is paid for by the residents living on Ann Lane.

It is not a public highway.

An exit cannot be built at the back on Ann Lane for the use of the pub's patrons.

    Ann Lane is private land.

  26. The pavement of Ann Lane at the back of the pub has been specifically designed so that the many elderly and disabled residents in the area can have continuous and safe access straight from Milman Street to Kings Road.

It is used by the elderly residents of Elizabeth Court private residence, the sheltered accommodation in Milman Street and other disabled residents in the area. Specially those who use wheelchairs.

It is safe, accessible and comfortable for these vulnerable residents.

Opening up a pub exit at the back onto Ann lane will obstruct the accessibility of the pavement.

Councillor Simmonds is obviously intent in undoing all the wonderful work that voluntary groups undertake in the community.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The police have closed all the back exits of the pub through the years except for one exit at the front on Kings Road.

This is to combat the drug dealing, drug taking ,the selling of stolen goods and the drunken violence that occur on a daily basis.

Opening the exit at the back against police advice will undo all the efforts of police officers through the years to help improve our community and bring up our children in an environment that is conducive to success and a life free of crime.

    1. Cllr Simmonds has been exposed by the Dame as a person who essentially occupies her position to serve herself. For too long, the Royal Borough, and especially the ruling Tory Party, has been prepared to tolerate such people. Cllr Fielding-Mellen and his property consultancy is another example. Cllr Warrick and his planning machinations is yet another. At an even less significant end of the scale is the tiny fly and Campden councillor, Cllr Faulks. And of course Cllr Weale who famously said that her consultation style is "to listen but not to hear".

The hornets will continue to expose these individuals until they are weeded out and residents are rid of the baggage.

For good reason, Cockle and Phelps were hounded out of public life in Kensington and Chelsea. The other charlatans need to take note.

No reference to police report objecting. Great reference to Councillor Simmonds' letter of support.

We didn't know that Councillor Simmonds has become a qualified planning officer whose planning views in support of her special friend Ralph, owner of the pub, are a great basis for recommending that this travesty is approved !!!!

  53. Why does our lovely councillor ignore the needs of residents ?

    ReplyDelete
  54. We would hope that the planning committee would have more sense than to give a pub where drug dealing and violence is the order of the day an open courtyard in front of thirteen children's bedrooms and an exit at the back where all the dodgy dealings can take place out of the public eye in front of residents' homes.

    ReplyDelete
  55. If this go through it would be disastrous for all of us, especially the most vulnerable.

  59. At the 2016 AGM before proceedings began, a loud shrill voice was overheard coming from the front row of assembled councillors. A lady dressed in a white, flared silk trouser suit, looking and sounding every inch a DIVA greeted the TMO member who had arrived and sat behind her in the second row.

The voice of the DIVA belonged to Cllr Maighread Condon-Simmonds

The elderly gentleman (late 70's early 80's) who had clearly made every effort to look very smart, had taken up the seat behind the DIVA, within a second of his sitting down, she turned her head and he was greeted by her loud shrill voice:

"Take that hat off!" in a scolding like manner.

"Don't you know its not good etiquette to wear a hat in doors and you are at a meeting"

The elderly gentleman slowly removed his hat.

    The DIVA then said:

"Well done, there you are, Ill always show you the way, stick with me!"

The elderly gentleman was then told:

"I hope you are voting for the TMO"

I sympathised with the elderly gentleman whilst we stood in the queue for tea at hist treatment, he was lost for words, he just shrugged and looked on at the coffee cups.

SHAME ON YOU Councillor Condon-Simmonds, please try to learn to treat people with RESPECT, that includes children, the elderly and the vulnerable, the very constituents that you claim to represent!
