Tfl TO CLOSE DOWN LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS

For ages, Tfl have been plotting to get rid of the newsstand conveniently situated outside Sloane Square Tube Station.
MUCH LOVED NEWSVENDOR
The last time their efforts met with huge resident resistance.
Now Tfl claims planned improvement works to the station means it has to terminate the licences of the newsstand and Sloane Flowers.

This is such rubbish.

It is perfectly feasible for the works to go ahead with the two enterprises in situ, but, of course, we all know that monopoly operations, such as Tfl, have no love for small entrepreneurs and do all they can to make their lives a misery.

These two small businesses contribute to the street scene and provide an invaluable local service.
Leave them alone!
The entrance to the station is perfectly adequate; this is just a ploy to finish off two small businesses already struggling in a difficult financial climate and a waste of money we pour into Tfl.

  1. Can WE all remember this is OUR land we paid for it and maintain it with our taxes and fairs so this has to stop, a public body using public land for their own personal gains.

    Infuriating!

CapCo have interests in this sort of thing buying 50% shares in the Solum Group:

"...a joint venture arrangement with Network Rail Infrastructure Limited (“NRIL”). Total acquisition costs were £14.5 million, £2.0 million of which is contingent. The joint venture will explore opportunities for future redevelopments on and around significant railway station sites in London."

  4. This was obviously cooked up during Boris' reign of terror. Sadiq could and perhaps should be contacted, to at least get his drift. Any petitions?
