"WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT MATTHEW"

Very weird
There is increasing concern over the mental state of Cllr Palmer......
Cllr Palmer has published a comment which heaps further shame, not just on the council, but on fellow councillors and residents who voted for him. Come on, Nick, we know you are a gentleman. Do something about this oaf....

Even colleagues are whispering around the coffee machine about his 'off the wall' behaviour.
Some say that Matthew's 'issues' with strong, intelligent and capable women are the fault of his old nanny, Miss Phoebe Lashalot, an arch disciplinarian.
Miss Phoebe would whip young Matt for the slightest infraction. Could she be to blame for our rogue councillor?

  1. It's a mystery as to why Palmer gets away with his appalling behaviour. Does he have something on his paymasters or are they all Masons?

Come on Dame, you must have an inkling.

    1. There is no question that the odiuos Palmer was out of order. The Mayor instructed him to shut up and sit down. An order that he ignored.

It is essential that a great fuss and many complaints are made about Cllr Palmer's behaviour. As Chief Clerk, Mr Holgate, wrote in his communication to the Labour Group, "this is the latest in a long line of transgressions".

The Tories are dying to get shot of Palmer. But they hesitate because of the publicity and the fear that "he may retaliate". Whatever that means.

Pressure will push the hopeless Paget-Brown over the edge and he will act to rid the Conservative Party of the embarrassment.

  3. There is something in the head of small time Tory Councillors that goes to their heads in Council Meetings when they feel that they can utter any kind of abuse and slander to individuals. It is even more unfortunate that the Conservative Leadership generally refuses to put things right.

There was the noted case of disgraced ex Cllr Phelps who called a resident a "liar" in an open Council meeting. And invited the defenceless resident to "sue". A request to the Leader at the time, Cllr Cockell to insist on a retraction by the odious Phelps fell on deaf ears.

Phelps and Cockell made a mortal enemy of the wronged resident. Both were hounded out of Office after their wrongdoings were investigated and exposed. Both reptiles were denied the advancements that they considered to be rightly theirs.

Phelps was a rotten fellow. Chucked out of the Council after the Dame exposed that he was circulating indecent images of young boys on the council computer system. Cockel was also a rotten fellow. K&C Tories made it clear that it was time for him to step down as Leader after the Dame exposed him for entertaining "friends" on Saturday nights at top New York restaurants, using his council credit card to pay the bills with Council Tax.

  4. Can't those whole elected Palmer also remove him, recall or whatever. Does this mean that he cannot be 'fired', like us, poor plebs of the Borough?

    1. Yes, Sad Badger, Councillors can be 'fired'. But that takes some actual effort, which is in very short supply.

    2. What a load of tosh. All this nonsense about nothing. The two ladies, and especially EDC, should be flattered that a fine fellow like Palmer was dreaming of stiffing them. And saying so in public.

      Fun or flattery. Or both

    3. Dame, I do hope your people can access the details of Anonymous 13.40. This can be reported, tracked and the foul-mouthed fellow revealed.

  6. All the above is true, with the (possibly) rather worse addition that Palmer's torrent of abuse had been carefully planned and written down.

Yet he will get away with it again, despite going through the 'proper channels', because it is less trouble for the Leader and Whip than setting a good example and dealing with him robustly. What a poor show, no wonder so few good people come forward for selection.

    1. Isn't it the job of the Whip to deal with Councillors' conduct? If this was said at a public meeting, shouldn't he have been suspended until the matter had been investigated? A little discipline needed here. Pathetic bunch.

  8. Nothing short of the constabulary catching a councillor with a corpse and bloody axe will result in action being taken against any of them. This is because long term councillors know which cupboards contain the other skeletons.

Moylan has, or maybe had, a particular gift for publicly attacking individual residents. Recent history may have caused him to tone down his past excesses. The danger remains that he may return to his former habit of bullying any resident, fellow councillor or officer who dared to voice an opinion differing from his.

Jonathan Bore and certain other senior officers are routinely given £250,000 of residents' cash in golden handshakes. It encourages them to depart in silence.

None of this slack behaviour would have been tolerated on the Conservative benches if the poodles had the good sense to elect Moylan as their Leader.

  10. Has this man ever had a real job- he's clueless and lacks any kind of 'compass' , moral or otherwise !

  11. Suspend him . He's meant to act like a Councillor , not some prepubescent schoolboy.

He certainly gave us all much cause for concern and the application of corporal punishment was an absolute must. I hoep he hasn't turned out to be a 'wrong 'un'

  13. EDC is too sensitive. None of the other women councillors have let him get to them.

    1. Not true 12.32. We know he targets women on our side too, but they are afraid to speak out.

If you think what he said at the October Council meeting is acceptable, you need to have a long look at yourself in the mirror. What he said was disgusting.

EDC has been the only one who dared to call him out on his behaviour, and that's why she's had a lot of support in this post.

    2. What a very silly and uninformed comment,'Anonymous'12.32.

If Palmer made racist or homophobic comments in a Full Council meeting it would be deemed totally out of order. There would be no need for the formal complaints procedure as he would be sacked on the spot. And the subjects of his comments wouldn't be told they are 'too sensitive' when they complained. They would be standing up for their rights.

  14. Palmer has a problem with women. He cannot help himself. Apart from EDC he has been briefing against Cllr Borwick for ages.

    1. Cllr Borwick and Cllr Dent Coade are both considerably more accomplished than Cllr Palmer. This is clearly his problem. The ladies belong to different political parties so Palmer's constant bitching is not a party political protest. He has a problem.

Like Katisha, both ladies have perfect elbows. The Cllr Palmer may like to add this to his hate list

    2. Perhaps Gilbert, but the attractiveness or otherwise of the ladies (and both are 'Lady's is that a coincidence?)is irrelevant. The problem now is that rather than spreading his poison behind our backs and anonymously via online fora, he feels confident enough to speak out in public. To all those who have stood by and seen it as 'a bit of fun' this is our fault. He is out of control.

  15. He is being protected by the Tory powers that be. His statement in Council was written for him by Ahern, his Chief Whip. He did not want to read it out but had to so that the Town Clerk could close down the matter. He did not mean a word of it.
