Once he stood as an Inde and accused the Conservatives of not listening to residents. After a 'talking to' by his Philbeach Gardens neighbour, Sir Pooter Cockell(and a promise of a safe seat)he recanted and turned Tory.
Members of the Earl's Court Society have been regaling the Dame with tales of the pompous ass.
In particular, his report tonight of all his achivements........
Pity he omitted to mention his other bit of HYPOCRISY

The Chairman’s report of the Earl’s Court Society, an organisation that purports to be a non-political community grouping of local residents associations, appears to be more a litany of what he has done as a Councillor and not as a chair.
In other organisations/companies, the norm is that a Chair’s report includes a report-back on the activities of the Society and its sub-groups, over the previous year—is this a Spalding takeover?
Before the May 2014 elections, he said that he would stand down as chair, now he is not aiming to retire until 2016.

CHAIRMAN'S ANNUAL REPORT AGM Thursday 19th March 2015
Since the
last AGM on 27th February 2014 I have attended:

Eight meetings of the ECS Planning Group
●
Four meetings of the ECS Executive Council
With CapCo,
chaired by Ken Courtenay and Anette Simpson, the launch and subsequent six
meetings of the ECS Neighbours Group which deals with party wall, structural
surveys, property maintenance,and any damage & nuisance to direct
neighbouring properties. The EC redevelopment will be a major issue for us for
the next four years. Demolition started in December.
Other local
issues dealt with include:

Sale of the Philbeach Garden (Committee EGM, AGM, sub-committee and
meeting with chair Carola Hickling and leader of the Council)
I have been
appointed Trustee of the Earl's Court Charity and the Westway Trust. Friedererike Maeda, Ann Kutek and Cllr
Fenella Aouane were co-opted onto the Executive Council.
Congratulations
for Mayor's awards to Jennifer Ware and Toby Brown, and many thanks to Hilary
Temple, who is retiring, for an excellent job as founder Member and Treasurer
of the Society.

DeleteIt is amazing how Councillors like Spalding take their residents for granted and consider them all to be idiots. He does not try at all to conceal his vanity and shallow interest in anything except himself.

Cllr Spalding is a new boy trying to find his way. Only elected to K&C Council last year. Still needs to understand the nature and meaning of "public service".

Rather surprising that this puffed up Councillor lists himself as a "College Principal". Must be a strange sort of establishment to tolerate the leadership characteristics exhibited at the Earls Court Society.
ReplyDeleteEven stranger (and I have never seen this before) he lists his assets to include Lloyds Bank Account, a Halifax Saver and an HSBC ISA plus eleven more such assets.
Clearly our Principal is a beginner.
No doubt the rodent also has six cans of soup, seven eggs, two jars of jam and a leg of lamb in his larder. Declarations like this ALWAYS mean that he is hiding something

ReplyDeletePerhaps the fact that Pooter's protege Spalding has recently become a Westway trustee explains the monumental mess it's making of its proposed improvement programme. It's quite extraordinary. North Kensington is in uproar.
ReplyDeleteSpalding et al do very little for the residents of Earls Court, they do a lot for themselves, their meetings with residents in local hotels is meant to make them 'accessible' in fact its embarrassing.They sit on committees where they will not have to challenge anything. The ONLY active Councillor is Linda Wade, she works hard for all residents not just the chosen ones. She was instrumental in ensuring local people understood exactly what Capco were up to and was then criticised by 'local representatives' for even trying to question them " the deal had been done". Spalding did nothing in relation to Philbeach Gardens he puffed around the meeting, chest out as usual pretending to be important. It was residents who solved the Philbeach Gardens issue by buying it. As for his role with the Westway Trust he shall fit in nicely.

ReplyDeleteThis is bad news. Mr Read will no doubt try for Abingdon Ward to replace Cllr Borwick. I will resist this with all my might. Read is not worthy to be a Councillor.

It is not only Abingdon Resident who will be opposing ex Cllr Read as a candidate for the soon to be vacant seat in Abingdon Ward. The Dame will give wide publicity to any such travesty and the Hornets will be buzzing
DeleteI currently despair about my 17 year old who is living a life of "me, me, me". Not at all like the rest of his family. I hope that as he grows older and matures he will become more inclusive and caring, like the most of us.

ReplyDeleteCllr Spalding has been monstered by the Hornets. This is a reflection of what members of the Earls Court Society are saying about their erstwhile Chairman. Conservative Association members are non too happy either.
ReplyDeleteCllr Paget-Brown needs to sharpen up his act and get the new Councillor recruitment process into shape. The process was abused by disgraced ex Leader Cllr Cockle who tapped too many of his friends and acquaintances on the shoulder to join the poodle club. And then the absurd experiment of using the conflicted Headhunters Tribal to find candidates. I ask you.
