AFFINITY SUTTON GETS NASTY AND INTIMIDATORY WITH SOCIAL HOUSING RESIDENTS

EXFORD: BOSS OF INTIMIDATING STAFF
A large group of residents campaigning to save Sutton Estate, Chelsea, were meeting with Edddie Izzard and various journalists, including the Guardian, when they were rudely interrupted by Affinity Sutton's spin-mistress, Lisa Louis and Chelsea Resident Liason Office, Natalie Down.

This scary duo told the journo's that they were to speak to residents keen on the demolition of their homes.
The Guardian agreed, but found that AF had only managed to dragoon two!
Things got heated when residents confronted the spin-mistress about figures produced in a AF public consultation.
She then admitted there were, " errors and plans had not been finalised"

And that's when it all started to get unpleasant.
Lisa Louis approached a resident who had been interviewed by the journalist on camera in their property, and threatened, "You know you need permission to film in your flat." Unfortunately for  Ms. Louis, her threat was overheard by a journalist; when she realised this, she said that she was just joking.
Other residents, who were in support of the Save the Sutton Campaign, had seen what was going on and were scared off by her threat.
Keith Exford's Affinity Sutton is a multi-billion pound charity, with huge resources and PR companies to get their message across, and yet, in order to push their agenda through, they found it necessary to start threatening residents.
This is not the behaviour of a charity:this is the behaviour of thugs and gangsters.

Keith Exford, as Group Chief Executive of the charity Affinity Sutton if you have any integrity give the accurate figures for the public consultation, and stop the intimidation now.

  1. What has happened to our housing associations that has changed them from charities set up to serve people into corporations trying to serve themselves.

    1. As with most large 'charities' they become corporate and quite simply forget their roots and the people they serve.

    2. Greed. The organisations may be "not for profit". But those running them certainly aren't. £200,000+ salaries are very profitable for those at the top. And their minions, many of which are on vastly inflated sums that they simply wouldn't get in the private sector, are just the same.

    1. Yes Lies and Intimidation, telling affinity Sutton residents they will be evicted when this a blatant lie is also intimidation. Also worth noting the SOS only managed to roll out 3 tenants as well. Get your facts right dame.

      Delete
    2. SOS have NEVER canvassed the opinion of the majority of residents who are keen to get out of housing stock that was poorly built in the first place. It is impossible to patch them up any further. SOS is a front to further the political careers of mssrs Henderson and Izzard. Mr Henderson has also been reported as saying he wants first choice of the new flats when they are built

    3. The above is defamatory and a complete lie . 385 Names on The petition are residents of The estate. .Looks like the above comment has been made by an Affinity Sutton stooge, its is they who have been promised a new flat and God knows what else .

    4. Anonymous 19.03. Your statement is incorrect. Its is only the 70 smart housing tenants who reside on the estate that will lose their homes. SOS don't need to roll out tenants , there were many who were only too happy to speak to the press. They didn't have to be dragged out of their homes by salaried employees of Affinity Sutton and stuck in front of the Cameras. SOS are the only ones standing up for the residents in the face of gerrymandering , intimidation and lies. Why should residents watch as there Community is destroyed. Methinks anonymous 19.03 is an AS Employee in disguise. If you want to stand up for The Development , stand up and be counted and tell us your name..Thought not

    5. Anonymous 19.03. Yes only 70 smart housing tenants lose their homes, as long as you get your cosy nice new flat . If William Sutton had the same attitude as you , there wouldn't be a Sutton Estate. Someone else had the foresight so that you can have a safe and secure home, now that you have the destiny of that philanthropy in your hands, your attitude is me, me , me ..SOS are the only ones who have the resident interests at Heart.Go crawl under a rock you selfish git.

    8. I live on the estate. I worked with the residents association , CATS to regenerate our Garden area after 15 Years of Neglect. It was Mr Henderson and Cats who did that. We wouldn't have a garden if it wasn't for him. We got an award from The RHS. What is going to happen to all my hard work if they tear it up. All the new Gardens are going to be private , that's what i saw at Suttons Consultation in the Sheltered Housing Block

    9. No tenant of Affinity Sutton has been told that they will be evicted, and to suggest otherwise would be defamatory. Why not put a name to your comment and go public with your accusation?
Or is this just more lies from the useless Linda Louis and her thugs.

      Delete
    10. It's absolutely rubbish that Ian Henderson has done anything to help regenerate the Sunken Garden maybe at first. As a tenant all i have seen is a
bunch of women and children in there working really hard
week in and week out. Whoever wrote the above must be blind. He ust wants to use it as his political campaign. Why doesn't he give the people who actually do the work the credit?

      Delete
    11. Just because people aren't seen working in the garden doesn't mean they are not doing anything. Ian Henderson was the one who managed to get the funding for the garden without this there would have been no regeneration. People do have full time jobs to go to not everybody has the luxury of being able to spend the day working in the garden.

    12. The hardest work in the garden? Filling out a for more for funding? Ian Henderson must be exhausted!

Time for society (and the Council) to get rid of these nasty people. Flush them down the loo

The MP holds a regular, weekly, advice surgery for local Chelsea and Fulham residents, at Fulham Library, on Fulham Road, close to Parsons Green tube. Greg’s surgeries are generally weekly, on Monday mornings, at either Fulham Library, or Peter Jones, Sloane Square, Chelsea. To make an appointment, email mail@greghands.com or telephone 020 7219 5448.

  9. Why are ordinary Londoners constantly punished for the mistakes of Bankers and are expected to demolish their communities because the property developers ( i assume thats what Affinity Sutton are ..) look to make huge profits at their expense. Where are the elected Councillors , this is the time for them top show that they are not in the pockets of developers. Or are they of the mind that more private homes in the ward would possibly increase their chances of increasing their majority. You couldn't make it up.

  11. Big Society ... Nuts - When people attempt to engage and take part in the ' Big Society ' , they are singled out for special treatment . Wheres' the advantage of taking part in Society. If the powers that be don't like the sound of something or if ideas differ to their own, even though they are in the majority , they are spoken to and treated like children . When will Affinity Sutton realize there first duty is to provide Social Housing for current tenants, and look after their needs first, before they consider the interest of overseas buyers. How many of these homes will be offered to the residents at a 20 per cent discount .I saw the Affinity Sutton employees, they were speaking to the residents as if they were 5 year olds, every time they asked a relevant question , they refused to answer the questions directly. This isn't Community relations , this is box ticking. I overheard one of The Affinity Employees say to one of the residents ' Oh Well i'm never going to convince you..' Surely the residents must be thinking the same of Affinity Sutton.

  12. I went to one of the Consultations, I live in Godfrey Street. I found it somewhat chaotic, with a real lack of detail - i asked a number of pertinent questions to which they had no answer. As a private householder i'm really concerned about the increase of emissions from the additional lorry Movements, should this go ahead. Already we are one of the most polluted boroughs in London - why would we need another road !!

  13. If this Petition continues at the current pace, they will have a larger majority than Greg Hands. Is he involved in this at all. RBKC only has one MP at the moment, its a shame Greg cannot find some time for this. It looks like the locals are attempting to do things properly, god forbid if the Guido Fawkes mob get involved. Greg if you do not address this issue now you will force these people to investigate other avenues. As a parliamentarian surely Greg can see the logic in engaging with these people, if only to get to the heart of the matter. Please see sense and engaged with your voters.. we have Elections coming up , this is Tory heartland. The press would make mincemeat of us if we lost any ground here.

While it is easy to knock MPs for not doing their job in the case of Greg Hands this would be unfair. I do not know if Mr Hands supports the campaign or not , but he has been willing to listen to us and to write to Affinity Sutton with our concerns.
He holds regular surgeries, he listens to his constituents concerns, and in that regard, he has been an exemplary constituency MP.

This is the armpit of public service. Three totally disinterested and self service individuals. Cockle - the Leader of the pack and mood setter extra ordinary - used to take friends to dinner in New York on a Saturday night (rest and recreation) and charge it up to tax payers. And when challenged he even "forgot" who he took to dinner at the Four Seasons restaurant.. How can Chelsea residents be expected to do business with trash like this?

Deselect all three of them. Baggage.

The three ward councillors are totally disinterested as it the MP.
Think before you spout nonsense and ponder how they have achieved a 9,000 strong petition, plus massive media coverage without leadership?
You might also wonder what part the Hornet plays in disseminating the message through it 1500 a day pay views supported by tweets. Now go and wash the car and be useful!

  17. I have been looking at the details of Affinity Sutton and it seems it is a Ltd Company whose directors are affliated with Marston's PLC., N.M. Rothschild & Sons Ltd, C.Hoare & Co. Yo Suchi UK Ltd, to name but a few. All smacks of land grabbing for huge monetary gains. At the end of the day, this Ltd Company has the financial resources to "upgrade" the flats without selling them off to build luxury apartments (selling at millions per unit). If William Richard Sutton's family could not break "The Trust" he set up (as they tried to), it begs the question how Affinity Sutton Ltd can?

Why do Affinity Shiton assume that its ok to knock down someones home , sit them on a building site for 8 years , and then, the generational residents have to watch as their community is bulldozed and luxury Homes are built for Non UK Passport Holders. Is this Conservative policy , really ?They should be entitled to Compensation as per Heathrow.

Sutton ran a carrier business from Golden Lane, Finsbury and built up a huge personal fortune through wise investments and business expansion. When he died in 1900, he left £1,500,000 for the provision of model low-rented dwellings for occupation by the poor of London and other towns and populous places.

This is a very strong and convincing letter from Affinity Sutton. I am inclined to accept the arguments. But there is fierce noise from certain quarters that needs to be heard and understood. A detailed rebuttal of the letter in the Hornet will make no progress. Sutton and the anti campaigners need to sit quietly with a moderator and discuss their points of view. The ideal moderator is Greg Hands, MP for Chelsea.

And the objectors need to ask the Council to carry out an Impact Assessment Study. Making objections at the Planning Committee, Chaired by the hopeless Cllr Warwick will get nowhere. Warwick will decide before the meeting how he and the Tories should vote and then he will give objectors three minutes to "spout". It is his primitive idea of democracy.

  26. The Suttons are needed today to provide affordable homes for working people just as much as in 1915 when my grandmother and mother moved in - they are good for another 100 years. The philanthropist Mr Sutton must be turning in his grave to know his homes are now run by a company whose only affinity is with making a massive profit and turning working people out onto the streets, the very opposite of his intentions.
