COUNCIL SPONSORS PARADISE ON EARTH...BUT NOT FOR RESIDENTS OF TRELLICK TOWER

A recent Independent article dwelt on the shocking state of TMO housing in the North of the Borough.
The thrust of the article was of a Council sitting on the thick end of £280 million in reserves(our money, basically stolen from us through over taxation, or the sale of taxpayer owned assets) yet refusing to carry out basic repairs to failing housing.
So what are the Council's priorities?
Pooter Cockell, the unlamented leader of the Council was an absolute philistine.
Possessing not a cultured bone in his tubby little body he was easy meat for arty farty shysters and their piping demands the Council fund their ludicrously pretentious projects.
The one below is just sooooo embarrassing...

How can the Council waste money on this garbage when the budget for childrens playgroups is being decimated?

Yet another legacy of the appalling Pooter....
The Dame has heard her relentless campaign against this expense abusing wastrel cost him his peerage.
If true, she is delighted...he never deserved a K.

  1. Why is my tax money being spent on this trash? And all those expensive Officers who do the planning and organising? This is not what Local Government is supposed to be doing.

    1. Angry Tory should write to Minister Pickles who just sacked the "not fit for purpose" Cabinet in Rotherham.

  2. Once the Council has formally set up its CoCo (a council-owned property company) it will have no excuse not to spend money bringing Trellick Tower and its other housing estates properly up to 21st Century standards. However, it won't. Its aim now is to build homes for letting out at very high market rents to improve the income flow. But we won't see a reduction in Council Tax as a result of this; just more cuts to vulnerable children and adults and more underspends squirreled into the reserves to pay for Opera Holland Park.

    1. TMO Chief Executive Robert Black has to accept responsibility for the TMO's failure to maintain Trellick Tower.

Does the Dame know that the recently appointed Director of TMO Repairs Direct has left; probably shafted by a black shadow.

    2. From what I have gleaned in the Hornet's Nest, this Black bloke at the TMO has not done very well. Anyone who gets a job there who is any good doesn't reign long. Either they can't bear working there or Black recruits the wrong people for the job and has to get rid of them Either way, Black is not doing very well.

I think it is time that I upstaged Sir Pooter and took a long hard lingering look at the TMO

Before hyphen DASHES OFF to see Black at the TMO's De Luxe Executive Suite at 375 Kensington High Street he might consider the future of the Mayor on the TMO board who has brought nothing to the TMO Board except a fancy moniker containing a handlebar.

    5. Good for you 11.55

Why is the TMO spending large sums of public money on a suite of offices for Robert Black in Kensington High Street ? Tthey must have money to burn. What is wrong with Robert Black ruffing it up Kensal Road where all the other the lot from the TMO work - no that's wrong, no one works at the TMO, they justify their existences by pretending to work.

I am outraged that Black pays for luxurious offices in Kensington Hight Street. Proper businesses that make profits cannot afford the rent on High Street Ken but Black enjoys this luxury AT THE EXPENSE OF THE COUNCIL TAX PAYER

    7. I live in a TMO hovel with a leaking roof. Black pays rent on a luxury office suite in High St Ken. Doesn't seem right somehow

  3. There's an old saying about the likes of the rotten borough: "It's all show and no knickers." Vulgar, but so apt.

  4. I still believe that the Leader, Cllr Paget-Brown is a sound chap. But I cannot understand why he continues to tolerate this crap and all the other fripperies like Opera Holland Park and UFOs landing in Ladbroke Grove.. Is there a Black Economy in Hornton Street? Activities that never come to Committee and are carried out by Officers keen to find work to preserve their jobs?

The most spectacular example of this is the career of Michael Volpe. After he failed as a travel agent he joined the Council as an events manager. In a few short years he became Director of Opera, spending £millions of tax payers money, and was formally listed in the Council's headcount as an employee of the Library. You could not make it up.

    1. Fact. Foxy Volpe (Director of Opera Holland Park) is an employee of the Public Library.

    2. And here's why, in his own words from 'Opera Talent':

'Council financing is a very complex thing and a lot of the problems you get stem from where your budget has been booked. In the past, we had budgets in inappropriate places. When we were funded from the education budget, we had people complaining that they had to choose whether to make cuts in nurseries or in opera. We shouldn’t be played off against each other like that. '

  7. Responding to Scribe, of course there's a massive black economy in Hornton Street. Just look at the planning department and its grovelling willingness to oblige every developer, while blocking the modest plans of mere residents. Millions are poured down an opera shaped lavatory. Millions more go on slave hewn Chinese granite. Then there are the TMOs. It's endless. The rotten borough is pretty well one vast slush fund.

  8. Staggering to find out that Council Tax is being used to pay for these activities. And unbelievable that this goes on at the same time that essential services for the old and vulnerable are being cut back

  9. Council tax channeled through the Kensington Library to pay the Director of opera Holland Park!!!!!

Who needs an offshore tax haven? The manipulators of Hornton Street are onshore diversion experts already.

    1. Stupid comment. Volpe's salary is less than 0.001% of the Councils £700 million budget. Opera JOY TO MANY THOUSANDS OF RESIDENTS "AT HOME" IN A GLORIOUS PARK SETTING. Get your priorities right. Your knickers really are in a twist

Stupid Person....stick to the point and stop being embarrassingly thick!
The combined cost of Volpe's 'enterprise' is a touch below a million a year....so stop taking us as idiots and pretending the cost is just his salary

Volpe's wife also works for the Town Hall Library. Two inflated salaries and two inflation proofed pensions. Nice little earner.

Residents understandably question whether, in a time when services are removed from vulnerable children and adults, the Council is justified in funding arts festivals - no matter how worthy.
