HYPOCRITE!!!

Cllr Dez O' Neill is a typical example of the luck of the Irish.
The old Dame is not one to be envious, but reading the story in the Standard about his burgeoning property empire(on land and water) she felt just a little green.

And then she read about his motor cruiser....not as grand as the Dame's steam yacht, SS The Dame Hornet, yet fairly impressive for a man of supposedly little means.
WEEKEND CRUISER!

Maybe financially challenged Colville voters might ask him how they too can build a property empire

  1. What's this about a motor cruiser Dame?

Is this why they call him 'Four Flats O'Neill' - I thought it was because he was like a car with four flat tyres.

    1. He's more like a car whose wheels have been nicked and is currently sat on a pile of bricks.

  2. What about the garage where he keeps all his supplies?

    1. Anything of interest among those supplies?

  3. Word has it that hypocrisy is the very least of his sins.

  4. For years Labour turned a blind eye when his so-called charities provided public art at inflated prices to the Rotten Borough. Pooter & Co positively fell over themselves in their eagerness to give him our money.

    1. So will we now hear why Labour booted him out? Seems like an appropriate moment to me.

    2. Sadly they're still providing public art to the Council. No change there. Someone at the Council is a soft touch.

    3. Come on Labour, we want to know what Dez did. We imagine it was something worse than New Labourite hypocrisy!

    4. He was protected by Cunningham. Once Cunningham went the new regime built up a case against him good enough to sack him and make sure he did not appeal against the decision.

    5. 'good enough to sack him' or good enough to continue a personal vendetta because his face didn't fit the new regime? Unless we know what he is supposed to have done, it will always be subject to rumour and conjecture.

We want to know what Dez did.

People think you're stalling because it wasn't that bad. If it was bad, tell us.

    6. Someone might wish to have a look at the company that he allegedly does training for, Ionann Management Consultants. What kind of training does it offer, if any? It doesn't say. Given that the company has apparently been dissolved, what is this training that Dezzie is supposed to be so expert in, apart from scrounging every possible subsidy from the Council? It must bring in a great deal of money, given that he has recently bought this boat and has no other means of support apart from his £10k Council allowance. Intriguing.

    7. It's probably just a tax fiddle. Many "consultancies" are.

  5. Why are all these assets not declared on his register of interests?

    1. You have to declare assets and interests within the borough boundaries, so ... his subsidised flat, his subsidised (?) garage, his subsidised office AND his fourth home/boat, if it's moored within the borough. It seems two out of four are missing. His Register of Interests is wrong anyway, he's put his 'reduced rental' office in the wrong box.

      The man is utterly incompetent.

  6. During a fairly recent episode of dirty doings by the council against a group of socially disadvantaged people he claimed to represent, the Town Hall told him to make himself scarce. He promptly did so, leaving the underprivileged to be exploited by Hornton Street. Typical behaviour all round. In K & C the rich get richer and the poor get shafted.

    1. What are you talking about a 09.46? Time to speak out.

If people including the Labour people keep 'alluding' without being specific, O'Neill's supporters will be free to think it's a whispering campaign based on nothing but personal differences - which is precisely what he's told them.

    2. Sadly the same applies to far too many other Councillors. They believe anything and everything they're told by officers, even when it's complete nonsense, and simply do as they're told. Completely useless wastes of space.

  7. It's impossible to be more specific, because the matter has recently returned, unresolved, to the political agenda. Suffice it to say that when Hornton St said "jump" O'Neill leapt into the air and vanished - leaving the unfortunates at the mercy of RBKC.

In this case it was not officers who called the shots, but cabinet members who told him to make himself scarce.

    1. Oh dear Anonymous 12.49, was this the wretched Market Waste fiasco again? He was notable by his absence in a meeting convened for the purpose of discussing it.

    2. I think such incidents demonstrate that, irrespective of the reasons why the Labour party kicked him out, he's quite simply not cut out to be a good Councillor. He appears to be lacking a back bone.

The residents of Colville would be well advised to elect someone else. Someone who will at least try to represent them and look after their interests.

    1. Now now 17.44, is this true or just more rumour-mongering?

Until the public and potential voters know EXACTLY why he lost the whip, none of this means anything. He is all oirish charm and some people fall for it, big time.

  9. Did he have an interesting career with older women in the US before his film star looks were marred by cachexia?

  10. Dear Dame, if you have any influence whatever in this very rotten borough, could you please put Cllr Judith Blakeman on the spot and demand that she finally releases the information about Cllr O'Neill that expedited his removal from the Labour group?

Without solid facts this is just gossip and conjecture. We are facing an election and he is a candidate. We need to know. Now.

  11. A Colville resident was in conversation with Cllr Blakeman last night in the Mayor's Parlour. The question of why Labour finally deselected O'Neill was raised. Glass in hand, the Leader of the local Labour party responded that all would be revealed very soon. The resident expressed the view that the Leader's attitude was dishonest. Residents have a right to know what secrets have been withheld from them for years.
