WESTMINSTER GIVES BETTER VALUE THAN K&C CLAIMS WCC TORY CLLR!

A puzzled resident writes to the Dame.....

This month's edition of the Belgravia Residents' Journal makes a rather bold statement....

"Right now Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea's council tax is £1071; Westminster's is £680".
Who made this disclosure? None other than councillor Jean-Paul Floru from that made up, paedophile ridden country, Belgium.
J-P FLORU WITH FOOT IN MOUTH

Luxuriating in the Goring Hotel, Councillor J-P(as he loves to be known) sneeringly poured scorn on the skills of our financial whizz kid, Cllr Lightfoot by suggesting he could not keep up Westminster.

Naive I might be, but I was always led to believe that RBK&C was THE Tory flagship council known to be prudent and proud to deliver excellent value for money to the Council tax payer: but the article suggests otherwise.

I find it hard to believe that the difference in Council tax between RBK&C and Westminster is £391 per annum. I am not sure how this figure has been reached but, if true, I would like to know why there is such a huge disparity.

I would be very interested to hear the views of other residents in RBK&C and an explanation from Hornton Street.

  1. Of course Warwick is better - he has enabled an election bribe to keep UKIP at bay of a £100 rebate to every tax payer in K & C. This payment could have been made every year since the last Council elections, but of course this year is crucial. But having seen the names of some of those intending to stand for UKIP, Nick really does not need to pay out this bribe. He could of course permanently reduce our Council Tax instead.

  2. There is a certain illogicality here,
In the first place most of the financial disasters have taken place under Lightfoot's watch. In the second if you think voters can be bought with a derisory £100 kick back you are much mistaken and finally, the UKIP candidates are as good or as bad as the Tories and councillors like Phelps and Lamont still got elected. Reality check required here. Voters are so fed up they will vote UKIP out of frustrated fury.

  3. Funny how the Tories give an election bribe to residents before a local election in Kesington and Chelsea. It was the same last time around except the bribe was £300. But times are hard. Of course the money should never have been collected in the first place.

  4. Close Holland Park Opera and it could have been £200

  5. Does anybody know why presunably the average payment of Council Tax is £391.00 less in Westminster than RBK&C. I know that RBK&C spend tax payers money on elite and loss making projects such as Holland Park to the tune of £1m per annum and blow another 1m for the two week long celebration of the Exhibition road debacle in July/August 2012, however Westminster are probably no better.
