MR HOLGATE SHOULD HAVE A QUIET WORD WITH SHARE DEALER PALMER

Cllr Palmer continues to fume at Labour for supposedly exposing his share research during important council debates.
The chump got so upset he put up a silly comment on his laptop.
But he doesn't realise the pictures of him and his fellow Queen's Gate councillor, Danny Boys Moylan, were taken by a Tory supporter shocked by their behaviour.
UPPER RIGHT:POOTER
AND BACKGAMMON PLAYER MOYLAN

But it seems Palmer's laptop indicated a particular interest in Land Securities.
Now Land Sec are very involved in major RBK&C related developments so the Dame thinks it might be wise for Mr Holgate to have a quiet word with Cllr Palmer...just so Cllr Palmer avoids any conflict of interest....
I am sure you know what the Dame might mean....

Dear Dame, I take your point of course, but surely it should be Cllr Ahern, the supposed Whip, who should take Palmer to task for this?

Though frankly I can't imagine Tim 'the wet whip' Ahern being stern with anyone, ever. Bless his cotton socks, he doesn't have it in him.

    1. A whipping by Tim would be no fun at all. The stroke of Cllr Moylan would be much more satisfactory

Silly silly Matthew. I am using a pseudonym, I may not be tired, or Tory, or a Councillor. I could be an energetic left-leaning officer.

  5. We all know who TTC is. It is certainly not anyone with a name 'Victoria'. Matthew you are obsessed with Victoria. Why don't you seek professional help, Doc Tanock could give you some pills, maybe a bit of psychotherapy, you poor sick thing. You could always phone a friend in Australia.

There are more photos to come of Cllr Palmer working at the Council Meeting last week

  7. Mr Holgate should carry out a search of the Hornton Street server to determine if Cllr Palmer has been sending share buying instructions his broker over the Council computer system. This would of course be grounds for disciplinary action.

  8. It is impossible to believe that Cllr Paget-Brown will stand aside and do nothing about this flagrant and unacceptable behaviour by Councillors. Residents hope that the regime of decay and putrefaction that was the hallmark of the closing Cockell years will be stamped out by the new Leader.

    1. Don't hold your breath. However if the story is picked up by the Mail and the Evening Standard it will force Paget-Brown's hand.

  9. If Councillors abuse council time in this very public and disdainful way then Officers are entitled to do the same and spend hours on their computers at work trawling dating sites, internet shopping and worse. All part of the Cockle culture of First Class airfares, slap up restaurant meals for friends and joy rides in the Bentley. All at the expense of the tax payer. That insect has much to answer for.

    1. Disgraced ex Cllr Phelps used to send indecent images of young boys via the council computer system and sign them off "Cllr Barry Phelps". I wonder if these were distributed during Council meetings? The Dame has copies of the offending emails - perhaps she would like to do a records search and compare the times and dates with those of previous Council Meetings. Any one for Wednesdays at 6.30 plus three hours?

    2. Cllr Palmer has been misusing Council facilities for his own financial ends ever since he was first elected. Labour have drawn this to the attention of the Tory leadership and to senior Council officers over the years but nothing has been done. All seem to be scared of Palmer, who is a loud mouthed hulking bully and has launched witch hunts against junior officers who have somehow upset him. It really is now time to put a stop to this once and for all - and for heavens sake let whoever lost the toss of the coin be drafted in to Queensgate Ward in his place.

    3. He misuses Tory facilities too. Ran up a huge telephone bill at 1A Manor Street for private telephone calls to Australia. The theft was discovered and he was forced to repay.

  10. Cllr Palmer needs to sustain himself by thinking that Labour are a bunch of charlatans and layabouts. The simpleton has devised an auto reminder system on his computer screen that reads "Labour Lies". The idiot sits and looks at this for hours on end, including Council meetings. Poor pathetic soul.

How on earth can the Tory Administration choose such a person to represent the residents of Queensgate Ward where quite a few Labour supporters live.? This insect is a liability to the Tories

    2. Mathew simply needed something to remind himself what to think and dreamt up a number of possibilities. Thank your lucky stars he's gone with the simple reminder on his laptop. Plan "A" was a 10 foot sign hanging over the Council logo on the far wall ...

P.S. Poor spelling, check. Talking rubbish, check. We give you ... Cllr. Mathew Palmer!

  11. It is unfair for this thread to concentrate on Palmer alone. The picture clearly shows his senior (Cllr Moylan) playing backgammon on his computer and his neighbour, Cllr Cockell, appears to be very relaxed about the behaviour. They sat next to each other and chatted away happily when the bus drivers son was not playing with himself

  12. Is that Cllr Lindsay that I see sitting behind Cllr Moylan in the picture? Obviously concentrating on Moylan's game of backgammon and second guessing his every move. More baggage on the Tory benches

    1. You might have expected more of Cllr. Lindsay, who has shown a bit of backbone on occasion. Unfortunately criticising your "betters" in the Tory party is probably career limiting.

Tory Councillors are quietly fuming today that Cllr Palmer and Cllr Moylan have made them all look ridiculous. They do not have the first clue what they can do about the situation.

    1. How about they make a start by making sure it doesn't happen again? Or is that too much to ask?

Then they might consider proper and appropriate chastisement, perhaps even deselection? It's not as if the likes of Palmer are in any way "essential".

  17. Cllr Palmer is a vacuous, bullying oaf and everyone knows it. He is a massive liability to the Conservative Group and a disgrace to the Council. Nick Paget-Brown needs to show some leadership and get him pushed aside in Queensgate so the Council can be rid of him once and for all.

Mediacoms has been contacted by The Times, BBC TV, Evening Standard, and I think the Daily Mail and Mirror.

      There's no hiding place.

Playing backgammon is stupid and disrespectful, Moylan should know better. Checking your shares on Council time and a Council laptop, using Council electricity is a clear breach of the Code of Conduct and Palmer should be sacked immediately.

Frankly the Conservatives have been looking for a reason to dispose of him; use it.

  18. Council officers have refused to check Cllr. Palmer's computer to see if he has been misusing it. Time for Mr. Holgate to make sure that this does happen.

    2. A very good question, Pine. Apparently it would be "too expensive" to check the PC.

    3. Too expensive? Were they planning to check it or dissect it?

Sounds like an excuse not to look for fear of what else they might find.

    1. No sign of a 3G dongle in the photo. The answer to that question would therefore appear to be "yes he was". If the Council uses a transparent proxy on its outgoing Internet connection its logs could prove very enlightening.

  21. The Council has swung into action. An investigation has been mounted to find out who was using a camera in the Council Chamber. This is against the rules. It seems that the other stuff (like share dealing and backgammon during debate) is a secondary issue. Maybe not an issue at all. The Dame can expect a request for information from the authorities.

    1. Let me get this straight - senior Tory Councillors actually think it a better idea to pursue members of the public than deal with two errant back-benchers? We're clearly not in the presence of the greatest political thinkers of our time!

  22. What utter nonsense Fly On The Wall. It was agreed last year that cameras, filming, and social media could be used in the Council chamber, everyone agreed, as long as it doesn't disrupt proceedings, eg, you don't poke a camera in someone's face.

Many Councils live stream their debates, and in some boroughs this is very popular and increases engagement.

Nice try to deflect the debate, but you failed.
