TOSSER WINS TOSS. PALMER 'SELECTED' FOR QUEEN'S GATE

A GOOD EGG
Stepping down at the next election, as Queen's Gate ward councillor, is the redoubtable Fiona Buxton.
That is a real tragedy.
Buxton is highly regarded...not just for being a first class councillor, but as a good person too.

Residents will miss her and the Dame(who has only ever said good things about Fiona) wishes her well.
But there is sad irony in the fact she will be replaced by the idiotic Matthew Palmer.
Evidently the selection of Palmer was decided by the toss of a coin....highly appropriate for such a complete tosser.

  1. This means that the lucky residents of Queen's Gate will be represented by the "dream team" of Cllrs Moylan and Palmer.

It was done as a further punishment to Moylan for pitting himself against St Nick.

  4. Oh no - continued harassment of residents by the Beelzebub Palmer

Well Palmer has a total 'man crush' on Moylan, so it will be interesting to say the least.

    1. Palmer does not stand a chance. 32 years too old

  7. What a poison cocktail for Queens Gate

  8. Palmer was selected with Moylan’s blessing – someone has to do the work in the ward, after all. The other ward councillor is current Deputy Mayor Sam Mackover, who at least is a human being – heaven help him, he does not deserve this. So Palmer – who claims to be deeply loved by his constituents in St. Charles ward, soon to be Dalgarno (where he lives) – is doing the chicken run. Cluck, cluck!

  9. I hear there may be a challenge to the selection procedure. Some of the committee are very unhappy about the way it was conducted - and the result of course!

  10. Please God that the challenge succeeds!

  11. Sufficient of an intellectual to fail to get into Eton (unlike Dim Tim) - but bright enough to make it to Brunel University - the university for middle class losers. Ooops, I forgot - he is an aristocratic descendant of Lord Selborne and makes it back to William the Conqueror on that bizarre website!

    1. Whatever did he study? Please tell me it wasn't Business Studies!

  12. Oh dear, I do hope not. They were ringing the church bells in North Ken.

  13. What a shame, Fiona Buxton is another good stalwart Councillor who cares about residents. What a nightmare for Queensgate residents having an absentee Councillor and now to have Palmer foisted upon them! This is like watching a car crash.

  14. Eureka! Cllr Palmer is settled for life with a safe Tory seat. All he needs to do is keep his fingers out of the till and hands off kids. And no more telephone calls to Australia.

    1. And what about his residents? Are they not important and worth a mention?

  15. I think Owl is a little too despondent. I think one term of Palmer will be enough for the Queens Gate residents, who will ensure that the Tories select someone else next time round.

    1. Any Ward Committee that is stupid enough to select Cllr Palmer deserve what is coming to them

  16. 13.02 Ward Committees no longer are the final selection Committee I believe. Selection meetings were open to all Party members.

I've been told that these Ward selection meetings have been going on for between 3 and 4 weeks. Although we are losing 4 Councillors in total-I believe that around 10/11 Conservatives are leaving the Council-for various reasons...does anyone know who has been selected other than in Queensgate?

    1. These "open" selection meetings for Councillors are closely controlled and the few party activists who show up are given "guidance" about how to vote. The Tory Party in K&C has learnt a few lessons from Labour about how to handle these matters

    2. Sitting councillors who do not wish to stand down are also having to put themselves forward again. But they do so in a "special category" that is guaranteed reselection. It is all playing with democracy K&C style

    3. So how come Cllr. Donaldson has not been reselected?

    4. "Guaranteed reselection" unless the Leader decides otherwise

    5. Donaldson has a problem

  17. Maybe with a choice of Moylan and Palmer on offer UKIP will see this as a good seat to target and hopefully the voters will realise it's time to make a point and vote accordingly.

    1. Absolutely, I would say that if UKIP fields a decent candidate in Queens Gate they must have an excellent chance of winning.

    2. The Tories are so embarrassed that they are now denying that Palmer has been selected for Queen Gate. If it was on the toss of a coin, hopefully the losing candidate will lodge a complaint and ask for a new selection meeting.
