CADOGAN TO BRING APPLE TO DUKE OF YORK SQUARE

A PIECE OF CHELSEA HISTORY
Basement excavations are the bane of our lives.
When the Borough's largest and most powerful landlord, Cadogan, is seen surreptitiously slipping in a plan for a massive basement excavation under a Grade 2* listed former place of worship we need to be on our guard. The Council will be allowing a dangerous precedent to be set.
On October 4th this application is due to be heard, but as the plan involves a direct conflict with Council Core Strategy and English Heritage's rules on basements beneath listed buildings it is likely...and should be, deferred.
You can see the application here.
What is so wrong is the architect's distortion of the truth in claiming that there is already a basement in situ: there is not...unless you are sufficiently fickle with the truth to claim an eight foot square boiler room as a basement!
Come on Cadogan...you may be desperate to kick out Jigsaw and instate Apple, but don't take us for idiots.
You should be supporting residents against basement exploitation, not joining in.

  1. This will set a terrible precent if Cadogan bully English Heritage and the Council into ignoring their own rules

  2. Shoddy little application. Probably some new and young employee on the make and trying to get noticed. Not the way a well established and responsible Landlord in K&C should be operating. Short term profit has never been a Corporate Value" and now is not the time to start. Tory Grandee Lord Cadogan needs to crack the whip
