This application should be strongly refused as the neighbourhood experience since Laduree Cafe has been granted permission has been awful and has changed the whole landscape of Knightsbridge as being the worst spot in the South West of London in particular SW3.
The Laduree Cafe since its opening has caused havoc in the area with Middle Eastern supercars using our streets as race track until the early hours of the morning.

Prostitutes, beggars, pick-pockets, rickshaws, taxis, private cars create constant traffic jams.   

This daily behaviour is unacceptable and only started since Laduree opened and holidaying Middle Easterners started hanging around Laduree. The proposed application can only increase the nightmare for the residential neighbourhood around Harrods
This neighbourhood has changed beyond recognition during the past few years and, as an example, the advent of Café Ladurée has attracted a clientele with very noisy fast cars, who use the surrounding streets as a race track throughout the night for their excitement and entertainment.  This latest application would enable them to buy alcohol in an increased area within Harrods, which would only fuel this anti-social trend, and increase the risk of drunken driving.
The unique charm of Knightsbridge continues to be eroded by the activities of Harrods, which has become a magnet for social disorder.  

The ability of Harrods’ customers to consumer alcohol on (and presumably also off) the premises until late will only compound the problem.  The key issues to be considered in relation to this latest application remain as follows: ;

We are sure that the Transportation Licensing Officer is well aware that traffic in Hans Road , Basil Street , Walton Place is an example of the worst planning in the whole of London, causing tailbacks to Brompton Rd, Sloane Street and the whole area all because Hans Road (a public Highway) has been narrowed to give Harrods (a footpath!) to place their chairs and tables for commercial gain.
We sincerely hope that RBK&C will take this opportunity to refuse permission and rectify the error which has blighted our community.

I trust that the rights of local residents, versus the commercial interests of Harrods, will be of paramount importance to both the Planning and Licensing Departments of our Council, and that permission for this latest anti-social and unacceptable application will accordingly be REFUSED.
