LEADING THE RACE AND BREAKING FROM THE OLD ORDER

The Dame has dredged up past commentaries on various contenders.
Here is what she has written on Cllr Julie Mills.
Some think highly of her: others say-because she is 'unanointed' by Pooter-she has no chance.

In reality, the mass of residents want some serious distance between Pooter and his pals.

Maybe Julie Mills is the 'distance'....

We need a big break from the old order......

From the Hornet some months ago......

"Clearly it is time to look outside the ranks of the current Cabinet to see if there are any Leadership candidates. A name that comes to mind is Cllr Mills. A person with presence and personality who was noticed for her extraordinarily successful Mayoral year.
From time to time the Dame hears from residents that Cllr Mills "goes the extra mile" when she is responding to resident concerns. She seems to care. A practicing lawyer, she has the grey matter. Perhaps this is the kind of person that we need to turn the Council around and return to basic Tory values. And above all, bring back democracy.
FRESH, CLEVER AND NO POOTER POODLE

The noses of the old guard would be out of joint and they will say that Cllr Mills "has no Cabinet experience". For someone as talented as Cllr Mills this is no problem. Cllr Paget-Brown would be a good and loyal Deputy and he has loads of Cabinet experience."

  1. I tend to agree. She makes the two Tims look like intellectual pygmies.
Brilliant, commanding and resident friendly I will be asking my ward cllrs to
    support her.
And I think the Dame should be insisting that Resident Associations have a chance to influence their ward councillors.

  2. After 14 years of degeneration into a self serving fiefdom, K&C needs a break with the past. The risk with the usual suspects is that we will get more of the same.

  3. Nick lacks self confidence, the dim Tims are dim, and Borwick is committed elsewhere. Conservative Councillors should think hard about Mills.

Cllr Lightfoot is canvassing furiously for support

  5. On the basis of his performance in the 'Chamber' this evening he has not a shred of a chance.

  6. Councillor Mills would be a smart choice. Intelligent and respected she is just what the Rotten Borough needs to turn it around.

  7. I'd vote for Mills or Borwick!

  8. Lovely lady, great Mayor - but frankly off the wall policy-wise. And absolutely not a manager or an organiser. She would become the prisoner of the officers.
