A BALANCED VIEW OF THE PARK

We have had the 'Banker's View'.....now we have the balanced, un-emotive view from a long term, opera loving resident....and he is right. Can the debate continue without silly accusations of 'nimbyism' and 'classism': just so boring!

Dear Thomas, David, and other parties to this Debate,
Before we all tire of the subject, I’d like to point out that I’m simply another person who was born and brought up in Holland Park Avenue, enjoys Opera and values the Park as an amenity. This isn’t a classist issue and has nothing to do with “nimbyism”. The opera will still function if the canopy is dismantled at the end of the season, so nobody need feel their cultural milieu is under threat. It’s nothing to do with conservation either, nor the cutting of trees or other obfuscations. However, I’m a little confused by David’s comparison with great landscape oeuvres  of London & Northumberland!
The fact remains that the canopy obscures the façade of a Grade 1 listed building and should not become a permanent fixture. Please reject the proposal.
With best wishes to everyone,
Fergus Kinmonth

  5. The Dame seems to be under cyber attack from Inspector Palmer and his friend the Indian gentleman from North Kensington. Cheered on of course by the relative in the Leaders Office.

Be careful guys, the Dame has a wicked sting

    1. This is a very interesting question. There is usually more than meets the eye with the Kensington Tories. The copy list needs careful scrutiny.
