MALC GIVES THE DAME AN 'EXCLUSIVE': NEW WEBSITE COMING!

Those who socialise with the Dame know she is a fair minded old thing. So she is delighted to print this riposte from Malcolm Rifkind....and even more delighted to know that in between getting to his many NED meetings he has time to read the Dame.....what a charming old 'flatteur' is Malc!
NO 1 DAME FAN

Dear Dame,
Sir Malcolm Rifkind has asked me to pass the following message to you and your readers:

I have no complaints with your recent piece on my role as Kensington’s MP. You are entitled to say what you like – comment is sacred!  However I would much appreciate the opportunity to make two brief observations.  Most of my constituents are delighted to be invited to the House of Commons for a meeting but if anyone prefers, I see them at the Town Hall in Hornton Street.  I also visit constituents at their homes when necessary – indeed last week I was at Dalgarno Gardens in North Kensington visiting a constituent who wished to see me.

As regards my old website, your comment was entirely reasonable!  However a brand new website has just been completed, and will be online shortly.  I look forward to welcoming your readers to it very soon.

Malcolm Rifkind

  1. A Gold medal for the Dame. She has stirred the living dead MP to create a new website and he made a visit to foreign parts (Delgarno Gdns). What a prat this MP is. The website is not the thing - it is caring for residents and listening to them over a long period of time. Giving them local access and understanding their problems. Walking the talk , in a word.

  2. Malcolm Rifkind should publish his diary for the last 6 months. That would show him in his true colours

  3. It is pathetic to learn that this man fails to understand that a visit to the Houses of Parliament by most of his N Kensington residents would be as nerve racking and impossible as a visit to Buckingham Palace. The guy needs to be zapped

Does Rifkind HAVE ANY IDEA HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO GET THROUGH SECURITY AT ST STEPHENS ENTRANCE?

  5. The typical Moroccan single parent from Golborne Ward would have a hard time with the cops at the House of Commons. And rightly so!

    1. You silly fellow...Rifkind's family were doubtless as impotent as the Moroccan family when they came to the UK in the last century to escape persecution

  6. Come on credit where credit is due. At least Sir Malcolm reads the Dame's wise words and acknowledges the positive good that she is doing. Sir Pooter pretends he does not read it. A look at his diary for the last six months would be interesting. LGA, LGA, LGA.

  7. Its not the website that makes an MP - its what he/she does. Rifkind needs to study the website of Greg Hands (Chelsea and Fulham) to get an idea about what a local MP should be doing

  8. Rifkind is worse than pathetic.

  9. The man is a disgrace. There are doubtless MPs in wildest Wales and Scotland who manage to visit more constituents than Rifkind. He expects pulled forelocks from the plebs in gratitude for his arduous trek a full 5 miles north from Westminster.

Some years ago I brought a serious matter to him. It concerned and still concerns every resident in K & C. Rather than respond to the issue, our Great Statesman advised me to take it to my solicitor or the police. I retained the letter.

There is no reason to believe Rifkind has read the Hornet. Most likely his downtrodden staff picked up on the story and composed "his" response. He's a sick joke.

  10. Suddenly the dinosaur is bitten. At last he realises that a website is a serious thing that is meant to communicate what he is doing and report the successes that he has had on behalf of his residents. It is not something to boast about at Kensington dinner parties "I have joined the 20th Century and my boy in the House has built me a website"

What a silly man this is. And how unfortunate are the residents of K&C to be lumbered with such a joke as their Member of Parliament
