MUCH MORE HELL FROM HARRODS

 

Those living within the vicinity of Harrods wish they didn't. Their lives and the value of their properties have been hugely and negatively affected by successive owners anxious to sweat the site for as much revenue as possible. Harrods cares not one iota for residents.  Councillors promise-year in and year out-to do something about rickshaws, super cars, drug dealers, prostitutes, beggars, etc drawn to the area around Harrods.... but they do nothing. 

In the meantime, residents put up with all of the above-plus litter and the consequent vermin infestation.

Now Harrods want to sell alcohol up to 11.00 pm practically 
every day !!!

If RBK&C permits this it will do two things...

• Increase socially unacceptable behaviour
• Set a precedent for other stores in the area 
  
  
  
  This application needs to be fought tooth and nail. Please circulate the link The Hornet to EVERYBODY you know asking them to object to the Council in the strongest possible terms. This is the thin end of a very wide wedge. There is every possibility that Harrods will soon apply for permission to develop a hotel on the top two floors

 Application for the grant of a new premises licence for the following licensable activities :- Film Exhibitions, Live and Recorded Music, Performances of Dance and Entertainment Similar to Music/Dance, Facilities for Making Music, Dancing and Similar Entertainment Monday to Saturday 9am to 11pm Sunday 10am to 11pm (unrestricted hours for private entertainment) Late Night Refreshment Monday to Saturday 11pm to 11.30pm Sunday 11pm to midnight (00.30 in the Georgian Restaurant) Sale and Supply of Alcohol both On and Off the premises Monday to Saturday 9am to 11pm Sunday 10am to 10.30pm (midnight in the Georgian Restaurant) Non Standard Times for all the above - From the end of permitted hours on New Year's Eve to the start of permitted hours on New Year's Day The proposed activities and times are the same as those permitted under the existing premises licence. This application has been made to permit more flexible uses of the areas where alcohol may be supplied. To facilitate this the applicant has proposed the following conditions 1. Alcohol may be supplied for consumption on or off the premises from any place within the store provided the areas for such supply have been indicated on plans supplied to the Licensing Authority. 2. In the event that the areas permitted for the supply of alcohol noted on the plans attached to the premises licence were to change, new plans are to be lodged with the police and licensing authority in advance of any change and any such change to be subject to veto by the police or licensing authority within 10 working days of receipt of plans by them Steps to Promote Licensing Objectives a) General - all four licensing objectives (b, c, d, e) Unrestricted hours for regulated entertainment for indoor private use Alcohol may be supplied for consumption on or off the premises from any place within the store provided the areas for such supply have been indicated on plans supplied to the Licensing Authority.
