LIZZIE CAMPBELL 'IN THE SOUP'

Every so often a  well informed reader makes a well informed and devastating analysis of some Rotten Borough cock -up.
When this happens The Dame likes to bring it to the attention of all her readers. This comment is from someone who clearly knows what they are talking about.
It is a great pity, for the sake of vulnerable children in the Borough, that those responsible for the chaotic tri-Borough arrangement were not properly qualified. This site made clear the dangers of allowing amateurs to attempt such a complex merger. 0:9.23 below, makes the results plain and simple.....
This is what the very irritating and foolish Elizabeth Campbell, Cabinet member for children's services, said: "
"Just because we happen to spend less on certain things like children's social care, shouldn't mean that standards suffer."
Well, they have suffered. You should consider your position. Cllr Campbell...you are not fit for purpose and you certainly are not capable of holding down two Cabinet posts.

Senior social work managers from K and C (who under the tri-Borough agreement are now responsible for supervising cases of social workers from H and F) are unable to access the files of vulnerable children.
K and C and H and F use incompatible computer frameworks to store information.
A utter shambles that is placing service users at increased risk. Why was this fundamental flaw not considered by those with authority previously?

  1. To think that standards won't suffer because services are supposedly now cheaper in Kensington and Chelsea is completely ridiculous and out of touch. The old adage ...if you pay peanuts you get monkeys comes to mind.

What is unacceptable is that frontline services such as protecting vulnerable children and people is seen as not only a prime target but an acceptable one by the slashers of funds. So much for the Big Society.

I am not surprised their computer systems are not compatible, the people in charge of this merger have no idea of what it takes to run the services, have gotten rid of people who dare question them and the ones left behind too scared to question because they will loose their jobs.

This chaotic, dangerous method of working was clearly demonstrated in Haringey in the Baby P case. We hope such a case will not happen again, but it cannot be guaranteed.

Residents should also not be surprised that this egotistical madness will have victims and they will be vulnerable people. When that happens they will find the funding to do an investigation to learn from their mistakes.

All of which has been done in the name of the electorate who were never consulted.

    Shame on all involved.

  2. For rank incompetence this takes some beating. Campbell is already out of her depth on one Cabinet post. Giving her another is a recipe for disaster.
The person who should have been given the job is Victoria Borwick, but of course she is not in favour with the Leader so her talents are ignored. What a mess!

  3. It is time that the Conservative Councillors sent Cockroach and his gang of pygmies packing. They are destroying the borough that was once great, but is now in rapid decline.

  4. This woman is a lightweight - and Cockell is too thick to see through her

  5. The idiot Cockell should remember the lesson of Troy and the Trojan Horse. When the administration for social services moves from K&C to H&F it will creat a dependency. A non reversible process. And H&F will turn Labour after the next election. And the residents of K&C will be stuffed.

When the socialists of H&F pull the plug on the "wealthy" underclass in K&C it will be perfect social justice. And the bible quoting Cllr Campbell can trot out her Thatcher quotes for all she is worth - it will not make a scrap of difference

  6. The juvenile Elizabeth should try to forget her Thatcher quotes, the bible and the hairstyle. She will never pull off the handbag and the little Thatcher pigeon steps are impossible to imitate.

So try to be yourself Cllr Campbell. It will make a difference at home too.

Forget Andy - very few air miles possible from Ken Palace to Holland Park.

But if Cockell is on form he could transfer some of his Virgin miles that were obtained on his First Class jollies to New York (3), Boston and San Francisco. These jollies were of course paid for by K&C and London Councils. But Pooter kept the miles.

  8. The Dame has surpassed herself. This is perhaps the most significant story she has yet uncovered. It goes far beyond Chinese granite and New York lunches. It is the stuff of life for our most vulnerable children. Shame on RBKC; if they know the meaning of the word! Shame also on those with the power to get rid of the Hornton Street clique; but repeatedly fail to do so. This Council is rotting from the top.
