  1. That seems to be a a hell of a lot of gravy!

It's a pity yo don't have dates and destinations, to see where the gravy train is shuffling off to

  2. My attention has been drawn to the post on the Trainline. I'm sorry to spoil what must have seemed like a good story, but the payments to the Trainline relate to staff season tickets which staff repay the Council for through a deduction from their pay. No gravy train here - just an efficient way of paying for tickets which reduces the Council's transaction costs.

  3. Mr Bishop is quick to point out that he may be "spoiling what may have been a good story".

He is an employee of the council and not an elected politician. There is a very faint line that employees have to be wary of and to stray over it by offering opinions rather than providing facts is dangerous and unprofessional.

What he says may well be accurate but it should be for the politicians to opine on spoiling stories not employees.

He says very little about payments for presentation and voice coaching... ...I wonder why?

  4. In reverse - it might be useful if some opined a little less and availed themselves of the facts a little more - or at least, first. Such behaviour is also “dangerous and unprofessional“.

The power of the Dame and the force for good that is the Nest will be quickly diluted and distracted by this rash and rabid desire to find corruption, greed and wrongdoing everywhere in the Council. It simply isn’t the case.

You are correct to substantiate the Dames's position as moral guardian, but ludicrous to suggest there is no corruption, greed or wrongdoing present. You make a fool of yourself making such a claim. And without the Dame there would be much more wrongdoing. You are obviously a cllr!

At which point in my post do I suggest "there is NO corruption, greed or wrongdoing present"?

I am stating (the obvious?) that it isn't EVERYWHERE.

YOU make a fool of yourself by not reading the text.

  7. of course it isn't everywhere but the inference of your comment was that it was nowhere. The Dame does a fantastic job exposing greed and corrupt practice amongst cllrs.
Name one example, apart from train tickets, which the Dame has got wrong?
The Hornet is the best thing that has happened in this Borough: why not give proper credit?

  8. the train tickets isnt something the dame got wrong. she didnt accuse anyone of anything, merely stating what was paid the trainline.

shamefaced the council wheeled out an officer who reluctantly explained what it all is. shame a councillor didnt have the balls to do it.
