CALLING RBKC COUNCILLORS: WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER

Famously, the odious George Osborne told us to tighten our belts as we were "all in this together".

Osborne then left politics and his wife and went on to make millions with a US investment firm.

We now face years of horrendous belt tightening set to impoverish us all.

This is the moment for Councillor Campbell to lead from the top and announce she and her team are slashing their allowances by 25%

As leader Campbell gets close to £1400 a week.

She is a rich woman and could, quite cheerfully, either substantially cut her allowance or donate to a charity helping hard-hit families.

Years ago the Dame was a county councillor and received no allowance apart from one for attending meetings!

There was never the gravy train that now exists.

  1. As usual...a pithy & timely demand from the Dame

Quite right, my good lady, Dame Hornet.

Emma Dent Coad could redeem herself from her money grabbing past. She drew her Councillor's Allowance for representing voters in Golborne Ward when her parliamenrtary salary paid her for representing the very same Golborne voters. Come on EDC, lead the way and say that all Labour Councillors are giving up 50% of their Councillors' Allowances.

  3. K&C Councillors - gravy train parasaites the lot of them. Would they be on the Council if they did not get paid such generous allowances?

    2. I am sure you are right about this, 09.49. They are all, Labour and Tory Councillors, in to the money business big time.

I thought that socialists, (and Emma Dent Coad claims her "socialism is Corbyn's socialism") disavow that Tory doctrine of self-interest. So this is another shining example of a socialist principle that has passed Emma Dent Coad by.

Where would an upper class girl like Emma, who paid public school fees for kids to have the privilege of the very best education money could buy, leave personal, self- interest behind?

  4. ?? "Her socialism is Corbyn's socialism." ??
She certainly is in point, and on all fours, with Corbyn's antisemitism.
And EDC goes on coining in the money. How the antisemite prospers.

  5. Lizzie is as greedy as Emma for coining in the money.

  6. Now look here 12.43. Emma Dent Coad, the Socialist with overtones of Conservatism, is supposed to think differently to the way that a Capitalist Conservative like Lizzie does about "coining in" all the money.

Claiming all the allowances to which she is entitled without any regard to morality or her inviolable socialist principles leaves her reputation for being a good socialist in the gutter.

Sending her children to public school and suggesting that she is classier and better than the lower orders whom she represents with spurious notions of descent from Columbus and the Borgias is hardly the hallmark of a good Marxist. It is more akin to the bourgeois claims of a Liberal Democrat politician.

  7. Socialism is for the needy not the greedy25 September 2022 at 12:50

"Greed" 12.43 is not a socialist virtue. Thatcher appealed to people's greed selling off the public utlities cheaply so people could make a fast buck. Selling Council houses with massive discounts appealed to the greedy not the needy. Emma is supposed to be in to the needy but makes sure she is not needy, herself, by drawing every allowance on offer.
