PPE'S NO GOOD FOR BUYING PPE

The Dame is shy of boasting of her academic achievements: some might sneer at her First Class Diploma in Needlework acquired at her exclusively expensive Swiss Finishing School.

But this dimwitted looking fellow with a First in PPE has wasted billions of our dough buying dangerously duff PPE from dodgy friends.

Hancock needs the Dame's Dip Needlework. It would have better qualified him to know he was being sold junk.

And why do these irritating people make 'thumbs up' when they have so cocked up?

You would not give one of them a job.

  1. Why do we keep using these idiots with useless PPE's to run our lives. They are generally unemployable in the real world so go into politics or civil service

    1. The pictures in the Mail on Line of elderly and infirm people shivering on pavements waiting for vaccinations are HORRENDOUS. And it is currently minus 2 centigrade outside.....

Mass vaccination needs mass logistics. I would bring the Polling Station infrastructure into use. Big, empty Town Halls and Churches. Ideal for sheltering patients and administering vaccines. Polling Stations are close to peoples homes and everyone knows where they are

  4. Politicians have no interest or feeling for citizens. They just want to get on TV and say "I have delivered one million vaccinations. I am brilliant"

  6. As a volunteer driver I took an elderly resident to the Health Center for her vaccination and waited for her outside in the car. Today I received an £85 parking ticket from the Health Center!

    Business as usual.......

This is not the time for NHS bureaucrats to be deploying restrictive practice and trying to "own" the vaccination programme. The NHS is overstretched and does not have sufficient capacity. Private GP surgeries and private hospitals should be conscripted immediately to boost the capability - trained personnel and ready to go. My estimate is that capacity could be boosted by 20% to 30%.

And the whole apparatus should be converted to 24/7 working, bringing on board the 750k retired medical personnel who have volunteered for duty. Instead they are being asked to fill out forms and provide evidence that they have completed "equality training" and other such nonsense.

None of the above is a criticism of the hard working NHS medical staff who are working with their usual dedication in often run down and inadequate facilities

What I am seeing unfold is an initiative without leadership. Lots of posturing and plenty of bragging.Plenty of room for improvement.

For a mass vaccination programme like the one being implemented for COVID, some strange practices are emerging. For example, administering both vaccines at vaccination centers for a treatment that requires a repeat dose. Good practice would require centers to handle one vaccine only. A few months down the line, when huge volume is in operation, there is the high risk of patients returning and finding the wrong vaccine in stock. This problem will be multiplied when a third vaccine is brought in. A rule of thumb for mass logistics is "keep it simple stupid" ie one vaccine per center

Doctors are starting to throw away vaccine because patients are not showing up. The reason? NHS IT systems are crashing.

    Surprised? Of course not.

When you launch a mass programme like this, without alpha trials, you need to piggy back on tried and tested systems. Like Polling Stations, Electoral Lists, and driven by GPs and their local IT systems.

    1. Interesting observation. These systems have evolved over time and worked for nearly a hundred years.

    2. I'm in the North of the borough and my NHS surgery has moved, mostly, off-line from its straightforward and easily accessible system, to a modern App that, just like Track and Trace doesn't work on older 'smart' phones or on most computers. I'm, effectively, out of the system as are many, many 'oldies', like me who don't have or need the latest gadgets. So, the doctors' own systems aren't good enough and if they are having to throw away vaccines, it's likely to be as much their fault, for assuming that everyone is actually receiving the 'invitation' to be vaccinated.
