Some unpleasant people are odiously comparing the Dame's work with that of her friend, Geoff Baker. Very cruel...the Dame has never pretended to be a hack and sometimes it does show. Well done, Geoff, you are building up a great following.
Fascinating. At a council meeting some years ago a retired colonel demanded that RBKC stop the lower orders walking along Cheyne Walk or - worse still - cycling or motorcycling along the sacred tarmac.
This is good news. It was the "celebrity list" of objectors that finally put paid to Cllr Moylan's mad cap scheme to destroy Sloane Square. An impressive list is growing that opposes the equally mad cap scheme to destroy Chelsea and replace it with a train station.
Sloane Square supremo, James Thomson, will be smiling quietly
Thank goodness the campaign against the monstrous proposal to divert Crossrail2 through Chelsea is gathering some momentum. Perhaps there is hope for those of us who actually live in Chelsea and who want to stop the Coleridge bulldozer in its tracks.
Yes, even the Chelsea Society seems to be listening! Their previous endorsement of Crossrail is now being reviewed according to their website. Quite right , how can this project improve the amenity of Chelsea, when it threatens its character.

ReplyDeleteQuite right. In recent years there has been an infestation of low life in the Royal Borough. Time to put a stop to it.
