Myers Lays Down The Law

An officer writes.......

Derek Myers has given strict instructions that we should not blog on the Dame's site.
A law degree does not a lawyer make

This draconian directive from Myers(he likes to delude people he is a lawyer-he is not: merely a social worker with a law degree) may work to stop us blogging from Hornton Street, but it will not stop us expressing our opinions about the huge mess that Myers has got us into. The low morale in Hornton Street is palpable: fat cat officers at the top of the pile jump ship with huge pay offs, leaving those below to fend for themselves.
We disenfranchised officers will be telling the jumped Myers to take a running jump by ignoring his pompous 'directive'

He can only stop us from contributing on council devices or through the Town Hall network.

Like this comment, which is isnt, the low-powered high-paid social worker with a law degree cannot stop.

    Fight the oppression!

  2. Myers has not moved into the new age. Like his mate Cllr Cockell they still think that they are in control of the world and Directives are enough to make the serf class tow the line.

There is now a thing called the Internet with all manner if disruptive innovations like Facebook, Twitter and the Hornet.

Dearest Derek and Merrick, it is time for you to learn how to lead by example and respect. Repression and suppression are things of the past.

    Happy Christmas

  3. Funny how Cockell is the highest paid leader of the smallest UK council and Myers is the highest paid CE of the UK's smallest council. Are they operating a cartel?
Nice work if you can fix it, guys. We know these two will be having a happy Christmas and an extremely prosperous NEW YEAR

I'd like to send my very best Christmas wishes and thanks to our treasured officers who work so hard for us, through thick and thin.

Now listen to Mr Myers and do the right thing!

  5. Cheeky EDC, I do hope you're not encouraging dissent.

And dear Dame H, when will YOU start tweeting?

  6. The Dame has asked me to pass on her Seasonal Greetings to dedicated officers.

  7. The Dame has been examining this 'tweeting' concept and has asked her technical team to examine it. Do rememember she was born at the tail end of the Victorian era!!! Change is not easy for her.....

  8. I believe that Mr Myers directive is tongue in cheek. He is an avid reader of the Hornet.

The Leader's Office takes transcripts of the Hornet and this is where the rage is concentrated

  9. This is a politically motivated comment by Cllr Dent Coad. Pure mischief.

Cllr Holt has told friends that he is very happy to be part of the "old world" and has no wish to embrace the dangers of the Internet.

As Christmas beckons and Tony and friend prepare for a marathon of TV viewing (Downton Abbey keenly awaited) Cllr Holt is more than ever of the opinion that the Dame is a wicked pox on the residents of Kensington and Chelsea

  11. Thank you Tory for drawing my attention to Cllr Dent Coad's highly political contribution.
I have asked her to attend one of my 'salons' so I can be certain that she is the Tory councillor she is claiming to be. I will keep you informed.

Of course, Cllr Holt is quite correct to be wary of the internet. Look what terrible trouble it has caused his 3 recently resigned fellow councillors. I am sure Cllr Holt would never dream of following their example

In fairness, Myers does not always get it wrong. He got shot of disgraced ex Cllr Barry Phelps at the speed of light after he was exposed by the Dame for circulating offensive images of boys on the Council computer system. Much to the dismay of Phelps friend and supporter Cllr Cockell. Relations between Cockell and Myers became frosty for a while until mutual interest re established itself.

Phelps upset so many officers (including Mr Myers) with his rudeness that they were waiting to pounce at the first opportunity. Barry gave it to them on a plate.

Cllr Moylan needs to be very careful. He made many enemies of those who have put up with his bullying and bad behaviour. There are still scores to be settled.

The Lamont case surprised everyone. Cllr Cockell immediately realised the threat to his LGA ambitions and the bad timing for another scandal. He was quick to rope in Cllr Ahern and Cllr Paget- Brown to stand up to My Myers and implement a cover up. Cllrs Ahern and Brown are noted for their lack of backbone and yap whenever they are instructed to do so.

Incredible that the Standards Commiittee goes along with the scam.

As I prepare for my Christmas television viewing, I can't help but be reminded of the similarities between Mr Myers and Carson the Butler from Downton Abbey.

Aside from the physical similarities, both individuals run a tight ship where staff are kept in line and the reputations of the frequently dim "upstairs" folk (in the case of RBKC, the ruling Councillors) must be protected at all costs.

  15. I know a recently retired employee who wrote to him saying exactly how senior managers were playing the system and he didn't even reply to the letter. So sad when you think how great the council used to be and how people were proud to offer a good service. He and his senior managers will make sure they get fabulous retirement packages leave a broken council.

  16. Interesting 11.49, Ahern will swear to his dying day that he knew nothing about Lamont's 'situation' until the press release end August. How disappointing, I like to imagine he is at least honest (if not that bright).

But he would say that, wouldn't he?

  17. So it's confirmed that, both little men want to keep the residents from knowing whats happening, they want perfectly stage managed press and public performances, with residents grateful for anything they receive from the tables of the great wise people. And when the house of cards they have created tumbles which is a matter of time, are we to weep like the north Koreans? When freedom of speech is tampered with by power crazy little men it's time to watch out as they tend to have a lot more to hide.
